Beale Street
Beale Street is the heart and soul of Memphis. Birthplace of the blues, this downtown strip is home to WC Handy’s House, now a museum where 'the Father of the Blues' composed his classics. The scent of savoury BBQ fills the street as you walk along, exploring the theatres, restaurants and music memorabilia shops. Come evening, the live music clubs open their doors for rowdy revelry.

I really liked Beale Street.
I really liked Beale Street. Reminded me a bit of Bourbon Street in New Orleans, just smaller. Food was fabulous at several of the restaurants we visited. Had fun while visiting Beale Street. We chose to go during the daytime since the crowds weren't as bad and the prices on food were lower for lunch than dinner. You get the same food, just a bit cheaper :)

The road where the entertainment restaurants/bars are is closed to traffic. It's a very vibrant place, most bars have music; Country, Rock & Roll, Blues: nothing heavy just good free entertainment. Wednesday nights in Summer the street is full of motorbikes, an entertainment in itself.

Talk to the folks in the bars, you get lots more local knowledge that way. BB Kings Bad is a must.
There is an element of danger in Memphis, so long as you keep your wits about you & keep your valuables tucked away you’ll be fine, most people can’t help you enough

This hotel is wonderful in every way from the staff to the common spaces and rooms. It was warm and comfortable. Also walking distance to Beale Street and the Civil Rights Museum.
Wonderful view of the Mississippi River and downtown. Convenient walking distance to Beale Street and lots of good restaurants. A hotel with an interesting history
The hotel is positioned in a close proximity to Walmart, not far from the highway. Just 15-20 minute drive to reach Beale street or the center of the city.
The breakfast was good. We liked the waffle bar and the coffee was good. The room was clean. The hotel was quiet even though it is in a noisier location. The location is excellent, a short walk to Beale Street.
The location was great. There are many things to do within the area. Also, there are many parks and places to go walking if you enjoy things of that nature. One of the best things about The Moose is that it's almost around the corner from Beale Street and the FedEx Arena. Also, we loved the concept of the studio apartment. It was really cute.
This historic hotel was very grand and beautiful. The location in the heart of downtown Mempis and two blocks away from the Blues clubs of Beale Street, was ideal. Lounging in the lobby bar, browsing the attached shops, and watching the duck march were all amazing! We had room service dinners both nights we were there because we had our little Yorkie dog with us. These dinners were excellent.
The location of the property was good for visiting downtown Memphis (Beale Street, Peabody Hotel, etc). The property was an older brick building that is under renovation. The rooms were large and the kitchen was well equipped. Parking was available off street.
The hotel was really nice I loved that they kept the character of the old building. The rooms were big and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Location was walking distance to Beale street.
