The downtown area of St. Louis is in desperate need of redevelopment. Once you are past the Arch and Cardinal Stadium there are boarded up buildings, poor street lighting and no pedestrians out walking. I did not fell unsafe walking.

This city is not that safe, you find yourself walking and there are dangerous people around. Looking at the stay, it was uncomfortable, the people were unfriendly. The city had some dining options that they say are great, but really, if you ever had italian food it is okay. It's not that great, and the restaurants are older and a bit beat up. They close at 9pm on Sat. night. The stop for gas and any food gets you someone at your car begging for money and won't leave, and the person at the drive through McDonalds telling you no onrders are being taken right now. Goofy, strange place.

We went for a Cancer Survivors Celebration, and while there we went b ack to the Museum of History in Forrest Park. It was more than our old broken bodies could handle and we left after two hours. Went to the "HILL", Italian section of town for dinner. We went to Mama's on the Hill and had another great meal. Meals are large, so we share a side salad and an entree. Never an issue, they bring an extra plate. There are numerous other Italian restaurants and we have eaten in several of them. All were good. The Hill is only about 2 miles from the Museum or from Barnes Jewish Hospital, take KingsHighway, prob North maybe west from the Hospital. Watch for signs about the Hill go about 1 1/2 miles or so crossing the two interstate hiways. Turn right off of Kingshighway either on Shaw or Southwest something. Right past a 4 or 5 story U HAUL business!

Despite initial concerns about safety, my personal experience contradicted those worries. I discovered that the area around the Arch and Ballpark Village was safe to walk around during the day, Had mouthwatering tacos and margaritas at Condado Tacos at the Ballpark village. ,To explore further, we opted for Uber rides at night and were rewarded with the breathtaking sight of the Anheuser Busch St. Louis Brewery lights. Explored the St. Louis Zoo, a free and delightful experience. Overall, while some caution is advisable, my trip revealed that with sensible precautions, St. Louis can be a wonderful and safe destination to explore. Will have to check out the botanical gardens on our next visit.

The city is empty. Nothing to do.
The city is empty. Nothing to do. On a Saturday afternoon downtown is empty. No shopping, no bars down town. If you have to go to st Louis, make sure you’re in a nice neighborhood out of centre. There are quite a few.
Super staff. Spacious rooms with unbelievable breakfast. Well worth the stay. Unless you plan on walking to and from, just remember they only have valet parking, which is okay. I couldn't believe how big tge dining area was, and we found out that there are pizza and Chinese restaurants that will deliver to your door if you just want to stay in. Loved it! It's the only hotel we will ever stay at downtown again.
The amenities were fantastic. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet were great. They also give drink cards to receive 3 free adult drinks every night. I expected the drinks to be weak and limited, but they didn't disappoint. The staff was all amazing and so personable. The location was perfect for all the downtown attractions. It was very secure and they have a parking garage attached to the hotel.
A bold attempt at recreating ' Ye Olde England" with some fascinating furnishings and literary themed rooms. Without doubt the jewel is the snuggest, cosiest bar west of Cornwall, which is only missing Dick Turpin entering in a tricorn hat and demanding "your money or your life". Definitely worth a detour, whether staying at the hotel or not!
Location of hotel was great for the area of St. Louis we were looking to explore. Very close to Maplewood, The Hill, Museums, and Botanical Garden. It was very easy location to reach being located right next to interstate 44. We did not need access to downtown STL so this was a great location. Employees were top notch.
Lovely old school building and hotel. The rooms are very small unfortunately. Great location for the arch and paddle boats, but nothing happening downtown, visitors will need to use uber or public transport to travel for half hour plus to get to the town centre or other places of interest.
beautiful hotel. walking distance to difference downtown attractions including the Arch. the customer service was amazing. they helped me accommodate my oversized sprinter van and the security team made sure we made it into the hotel safely (it was evening when we arrived)
We really enjoyed the stay. found cheaper parking right behind the hotel. The staff was amazingly helpful and cheerful all the time. The Hot tub was awesome over 20 feet long so plenty of room but mainly had it to ourselves. pool is huge too.
The food at the sports bar was excellent. Fish tacos, chicken strips, and pulled pork sandwich all amazing! Starbucks had the best staff, especially the male at cash (sorry don’t have a name). Fitness facilities top notch for a hotel gym.
The room with two queen beds was more than adequate in size, the morning breakfast was good, and free parking in a covered garage was a plus. Easy access from the highway and reasonably close to downtown and the Saint Louis Arch.
The location of the hotel is great! We were about 10 minutes from any part of the area we wanted to see. We were there on weekdays, and traffic was never bad in the downtown area. Rooms were comfortable, very clean, and quiet.
Last Hotel is a really underrated place to stay in St. Louis. Reasonable rates, friendly and helpful staff and nicely located on the edge of downtown. This is my second time staying here and I would do it again.
Overall it was an exceptional stay. Great location by the St Louis Arch and downtown area. The front desk staff was helpful and kind. I would highly recommend it to others.
Location was good for downtown. Towels and sheets were stained. Rooms were dated and dirty. Staff seems very overwhelmed and pool and elevators out of order.
