Everything is so worn out and massively stained. The tub had kool-aid stains, sheets had hair, holes, and really worn out areas. Pillows yellow and disgusting. The reek of cigarettes just coming from the walls is overbearing. We requested a room change and that room was even worse. I had $114 for a motel worth $30. I really want my money back.

Troy farmers market is a one of the best we've ever seen. Right on the Hudson.
I would have expected that the roads in Albany would have been in better condition since it's the state capital.
Lots of great architecture, Tulip festival was fun.Washington park is a beauty.
Capital diner is excellent, great food and staff. Plan on taking deserts to go
Downtown there are some wonky intersections. Don't be timid when driving

Attended basketball games at MVP Arena. .9 mile walk...downhill .4 miles, mostly flat the last half-mile. Walk back wasn't fun, and the uphill part isn't the nicest neighborhood. But I welcomed the exercise part.
If eating in, stick to simple to prepare meals. No stove. Hotplate, microwave, Toaster oven, coffee maker.
Lark Street and New Holland have lots of dining options and functional YMCA.
Washington Park has walking options, and when the weather is nice, I'm sure the tulips are, too.

My advice don't use this location.
My advice don't use this location. Dirty floors none of the amenities they said we would have. The heater wea extremely loud and only blew cool air even though we had the heat on. And the phone to call the front desk did not work.

The laminate floor inside the room was peeling up, tripping hazard, the tub/shower did not work, no water. On arrival and at checkout the staff was sitting in the lobby watching television. I had to wait for them to get assistance.

The room was unwelcoming.
The room was unwelcoming. Upon walking in the room immediately smelled of stale smoke and there was a possible blood stain on the window. There was also unidentifiable stains on the bed sheets. The door was not secure enough for sleeping overnight and you can hear through the walls and ceiling. Felt too unsafe and unclean.

The central down town is deteriorating with a large and unfortunate homeless population. This being said I felt safe as I walked though out the area.
Overall the downtown is clean and the architecture outstanding. Rockefeller plaza is outstanding , safe and clean at all hours. The NY museum and Albany institute of history and art are outstanding.
Restaurants in the center city are somewhat sparse though on the south west fringe they are good
The Morgan State Inn is a charming and unique hotel in the heart of Albany. We felt that we got to know Albany a little more just from staying in this beautiful building. Plus, the staff member who received us, told us a little bit of the story and its previous owner.s
Our room was cozy and clean and we slept very comfortably. The breakfast was generous and abundant, with lots of delicious options to choose from (good for vegans too!). Lastly, I want to mention that everyone working there was welcoming, warm and super helpful.
One of the best stays we’ve had in years. The hotel is beautifully designed/restored, with the lounge/bar area and communal areas being lovely places to hangout and relax.
The owners (Terra and Matt) are GREAT hosts. Both nights we stayed, we ended up sat in the bar for hours, chatting away and having fun. When we realized we missed dinner, they shared their food with us!!
Highly recommend The Argus. We will be back.
The price was excellent, the location was nice, the room was nice and clean, staffs was very professional and friendly. I would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Albany-Downtown again and recommend friends and family. Did I mention the price was excellent. And my 12 year old daughter loves it and wanted to we stay longer.
The hotel is located in a central and beautiful neighborhood of Albany. The interior of the hotel is traditionally and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped and generous and available throughout the day. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. It was pleasant to stay in it. John was helpful and very kind.
My friends and I stayed for one night and were very pleased with our choice! Great new and very clean hotel. Wonderful breakfast, you rarely see such breakfasts in hotels these days. Special thanks to the staff, you are wonderful and attentive to your customers! Next time we will definitely stay at your hotel!
The lobby area was absolutely gorgeous , & the rooms were SO CLEAN. You can from the second you got in that it was a clean hotel. (another bonus but not necessity was the size of the shampoos & stuff in the shower , most places give you enough to last 2 people a night lol). Staff was also all super friendly (:
Expensive for basic hotel, advertised like a. Hilton, more like a Quality Inn.
Staff not the best, I was treated rudely, when I questioned the damage deposit.
Lack of offer for a paper receipt or quick E-mail receipt. Felt as
though I was being kept in the dark about charges.
The breakfast was normal but good enough. This location was perfect for getting to main traffic routes, shopping, entertainment and dining locations in the Albany-Schenectady area. The whole hotel area outside and inside was quite admirable.
Breakfast was excellent, actually much more than we expected. Hotel contacted us actively about any needs we might have. Free parking was plus. A nice kiosk was available at the hotel with coffee, snacks and accessories.
Clean and comfortable spacious room, nice pool, good breakfast, easy parking, friendly staff. Good location for visiting downtown Albany 10 minutes drive without the congestion. Stores and restaurants nearby.
The staff were of INDIA extraction. Very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. I feel that the hotel should be re-named: It should be called: THE BEST WESTERN BEST MARIGOLD HOTEL
Location is very convenient, we love Saratoga race course and this hotel is definitely affordable in comparison with Saratoga summer hotels. It takes only 30 min to enter the race
