We loved the 5 star views from our rooms. The beach access was great, as was the snorkelling. We even saw turtles! The air-conditioning was OK, and the rooms even had ceiling fans.
Steps from a peaceful beachfront, Amed Cafe provides Balinese-style rooms set in tropical landscapes.

I really liked the hotel, the room, the breakfast by the ocean and the staff. The territory of the hotel is very large, there are several pools, table tennis, an excellent spa! It was the first time I had a massage with the sound of the ocean and a view of it, it was great. The staff are all very hospitable. It's definitely worth the money. The rooms are very clean, tea/coffee/water are included in the price, and this is very necessary. Thanks, we'll be back again. Snorkeling right from the shore

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area. Good restaurants and bars. The sea is calm and lovely to swim in. I had a great time in Amed. Rimba and Galanga were my favourite places to eat. There is live music each evening in various bars. Taxi scooters are a cheap and easy way to get to places, and readily available.
The negative thing about Amed is the litter on the beach.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali.
To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali. Quiet, beautiful snorkeling, amazing nature and rice fields but still a simple laid back vibe. Lots of simple affordable warungs but also new coffee places (that serve meals throughout the day) with Scandinavian look
For snorkeling, we liked Jemeluk best, since it has beautiful corals and fish and a quiet sea.
Riding a scooter is easy and the roads are good.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.
Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food.
If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here.
It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid.
It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way.
There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores.
If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Beautiful snorkelling and diving.
Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.

Brilliant place to learn to dive (61 dive shops), highly recommended Ocean Dive League very experienced, very supportive 5 stars definitely. Can do awesome dives, 2 shipwrecks, coral garden etc.
If you love luxury over character I don’t think this is a place for you.
Easy to do day trips and get a personal taxi driver. Food was good. Lots of fish and eggs! People extremely kind, helpful, accommodating. Not really a place to go clothes shopping.
Definitely would go there again.
Only negative thing, so much rubbish everywhere, on the beach, in the water, on the streets. Saw a washed up dead pig on the beach!!
Great location and really great snorkelling directly from the property (you can literally walk into the ocean from the back door and experience some of the best snorkelling spots available in Amed if not Bali). The included breakfast was really tasty. Made was easily one of the best hosts we've ever had in Bali, and the entire staffing team were really exceptionally helpful. They went above and beyond our expectations and made our experience even more pleasant. Everything was clean and as described. Would recommend.
Blue Moon Villas over the ocean and are exceptionally beautiful in every way. Traditional Balinese features are all around the beautiful colours of the gardens. The pool overlooks the ocean and the views are amazing. Inside the ocean view villa (Angel 3) the beauty of old Bali is a true rejuvenating experience, with a very comfortable canopy netted bed. The restaurant attached, Komang John serves delicious organic East Bali dishes with the best Dragon Fruit Margarita’s the best!
Highly recommend. 5 stars.
The rooms are spacious, nice, clean and right next to the beach from where you can go out snorkeling.
The fishermen go out early in the morning and come back during the morning with their boats, which is noisy, the departure at 4 o’clock we never heard and never woke up because of that.
The food was very good.
To get there from Sanur we arranged a transport by Amed Bali Adventure, which we can highly recommend, a transport organized by the hotel is way too expensive.
The location was pleasant. The beach was great. The room was beautifully presented. Definitely recommend if you are wanting a nice quiet relaxing place to stay when in Bali. Location was good, plenty of places to eat and drink. I would recommend eating at Sama Sama Amed's restaurant as opposed to others. The food is delicious, the staff are great and of course its part of the hotel albeit across the road for the actual appartments.
Spatious and comfy room with nice bathroom (not always the case in Bali) and nice balcony. The breakfast the morning with view on pool and beach, really relaxing! The location is also nice even if not in central Amed because more calm area and on Lipah beach there's amazing snorkeling spot already there!
The staff is super kind. We enjoyed a lot our stay here, thank you very much!
how friendly the family were, the location is amazing - right across from the beach - best view from terrace, short walk to yoga &food - best fish and chips right there (sama sama), the breakfast is AMAZING with so many options included in your price, the beds were very comfy, cleaned daily. honestly one of my favorite places in bali, the accommodation and the village.
Arriving at The Angsa Villas in Amed, Bali, after nearly 24 hours of travel, exhaustion gave way to awe as I stepped into the serene atmosphere and was greeted by the breathtaking ocean view. The villa offers superb amenities and is ideally situated for witnessing Amed’s stunning sunrise.
There are convenient dining options as restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel is only smallish but you are really treated as family, nothing was too much for Nick the manager whose Balinese Family owns the hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional and the chef and restaurant serve amazing food, we could not get over the quality of the meals. Hats off to Nick and his staff we had a wonderful time there.
i rate this accommodation highly. It is in a beautiful location with access straight to the beach, no stairs ! The rooms and gardens are well appointed with everything you need. The wifi is fast and free. The breakfast is the best in Bali with plentiful choices and a cool comfortable location. The sea food arrives fresh off the boats daily.
Best homestay I have ever had in Bali. Cute pool and nice&clean room. The arrangement of the room is very functional and suitable for long-term stay. The host is super friendly and helpful, feels like family. Also there are five dogs. I spent lot of time playing with them😃 If you go to Amed, Narayan’s is definitely your best choice.
Best breakfast in bali so far, with heaty portions and great choice. Beautiful villas with every detail covered eg even first aid kits. Private beach and shoreline snorkeling. Check out the Seaview waring restaurant 50m to the left amazing food. Lovely staff and exceptional service
Amed Stop Inn is a lovely family run hostel. It's on the main road, not far from a beautiful beach, and backs on rice fields with iconic views. The hosts are really welcoming and helpful. I wished we could have stayed more than one night. It's on my list to come back next time in Bali
our best accommodation in Bali! the hosts are so nice people! the rooms are very clean, breakfast was very good, facilities are very good, there is beautiful view to sunset and rice fields and amazing restaurant with very good price! we will definitely come back here!!
the property itself is very beautiful and unique. 400 meter above sea level in the mountains. nothing like that view in Bali we have seen this far as it is secluded and tucked away for a tranquil experience.
Individual bungalows not even 5 seconds away from the pool, literally next to the sea, beautiful scenery (mount Agung), very quiet compared with the southern parts of Bali.
Everything! Have been staying in hotels all over Bali in this price range, and this was one is a 10! The breakfast, the staff, all were just wonderful. Highly recommend.
