With mountain views, Hortensias Chalets Vara blanca is set in Heredia and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and children's playground. What a delight to find this place. Quiet, comfortable. The grounds/gardens are gorgeous. The room /chalet had many personal touches that made it a very special place to stay. I had both dinner and breakfast in their beautiful restaurant and both meals were very nice surprises and made with their own fresh ingredients. They were very accommodating. All of the staff went the extra mile to make your stay a very pleasant one, immediately making you comfortable. I don't know that I ever stayed at such a lovely place. Exceptional!

Yatama Rainforest Ecolodge is located at the middle elevations of the Costarican rainforest, known as Horquetas de Sarapiqui. This rural community is full of activities and lush tropical gardens. Access to Yatama Rainforest Ecolodge is a bit difficult, but definitely worth it. You will stay in the forest, far from any town or road. Fantastic to go hiking in the forest, observe animals and relax in nature. Not a five stars resort but this is perfectly what I was looking for.

Offering an indoor pool and a restaurant, Peace Lodge is located a 1-hour drive from San Jose in Vara Blanca. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. This property is phenomenal. We had a room the size of an apartment. The bathroom had two showers a spa tub; waterfall; double vanity and space for days. The bar fridge was fully stocked the balcony had a hammock and it’s own outdoor spa and waterfall too. The property is in the middle of no where and it’s best to drive yourself. The zoo is magical. .Views are breathtaking. Room also had a fire place you need it at night it gets cold. The hummingbird feeder at every room is a beautiful touch. The staff are friendly and you feel like they are your friend.

Offering garden views, La Cabaña is an accommodation situated in Heredia, 16 km from Poas National Park and 6.5 km from La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Great house, with beautiful view. Check-in was easy with keys in a locker, easy access, great location close to Poas and La Paz.

Offering a garden and garden view, Deluxe boutique lodge is situated in Vara Blanca, 6.2 km from La Paz Waterfall Gardens and 7.6 km from La Paz Waterfall. The Deluxe Boutique Lodge was perfect in so many ways. We booked this location to be close to Poas National Park and La Paz Waterfall Garden. It was 20 minutes to one and 10 to the other. Walter met us at the property even though due to weather and construction we were about an hour late. He also became our lifesaver that day. Again, due to weather, a family member was delayed arriving into San Jose. Walter volunteered to drive down to San Jose and pick her up. The property is located on the main road into the small village of Vara Blanca, walking distance to restaurants and shops. The Lodge is super clean and very nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable, the WIFI very good and the huge TV was a welcome diversion during the stormy weather. We do not hesitate to recommend this property

Set in Barrio Jesús in the Heredia region and Poas National Park reachable within 39 km, Bungalows Sanlaz offers accommodation with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a garden and free private parking. The cabin and the property is simply beautiful and clean. The pool and views are amazing and the owner is very friendly. Can only recommend it.

Offering a garden and garden view, Cabaña Mountain View is set in Heredia, 18 km from Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica and 18 km from Parque Diversiones. We loved the location, the comfortability, spaciousness of the property. Juan was fantastic! He made the whole experience easy and joyful! He was extremely helpful and kind. We are so grateful 14/10 would stay here again!!
