Great staff, comfy bed, every thing was within reach.
Located just across the lagoon from the Venetian islands, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice and has cheaper accommodations, with easy transport links to the historic center. However, the city has more than just cheap hotels going for it.
Host to several festivals throughout the year, huge Parco San Giuliano has fantastic views across the lagoon towards the Campanile and dome of St Mark’s Cathedral. Also worth a wander round is Forte Marghera, a former Austrian fortress on an island in the middle of star-shaped canals. One canal continues into the center of the city and is lined with restaurants and bars.
Pavement cafes can also be found in Piazza Ferretto, a triangular square with a 12th-century clock tower at one end and the Teatro Toniolo at the other. This popular spot for a passegiata also has a modern fountain and several boutiques. Also good for shopping in Mestre is the Le Barche center, a rather uninspiring building from the outside, but packed full of stores.
As for nightlife, Mestre has a number of clubs, including one at Tessera near to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Don’t fly out of there without having tried the little homemade cakes called "mignon".

Mestre is a small place, there’s no Uber app so you need to go with the public transport all the time. The locals don’t speak English, get a wifi connection at the center where is the train and bus station and search for bus number that will take you close to your hotel.
It’s a nice town as long you get used with the way in and out. You can arrive around 15 mins to Venice from the city center w/ bus number 2.

I stayed in Mestre as the base to travel to Venice. It was the best move. Avoid paying too much for the Venice hotels. Stay close to Mestre train station and you could be in Venice in 10 minutes. Enjoy the best of both worlds.

It is the perfect position for a value for money ,easy base to visit Venice from.
Unfortunately we did not have time to visit Mestre itself as our focus was always towards Venice.
Mestre is a very short journey by bus two and from the airport and stops outside the hotel which means your holiday can begin within the hour. Perfect. The supermarket was well stocked with anything you should need. With places to eat and regular buses to move around or by foot

This is the second time I have stayed in Hotel Garibaldi, it maybe a small hotel but has a huge heart! Luigi and his colleagues are so kind and helpful and show interest in how you spend your time. The No.2 bus stops right outside to take you to the centre of Venice. Hotel Garibaldi is excellent quality for a a very reasonable price, breakfast will set you up for the day. I will be back again soon!!

Mestre is close to Venice and a much cheaper alternative...
Mestre is close to Venice and a much cheaper alternative though you definitely miss out on the old, traditional feel of Venice (I had stayed in a hotel in Venice another time and it was wonderful there). If you eat in Mestre, it's much cheaper. We ate at 'Da Michele'. Excellent food, very good value for money. We did not have any time to explore Mestre per se, though.
We loved our stay in Meininger Venice. As a family of 6, the room we got was modern and spacious, the bathroom was clean and the facilities met our expectations. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet selection. The staff were also accommodating to our needs and queries. The location of the hotel is very strategic as it is just walking distance from Venezia Mestre train station and bus stop. There are also restaurants and shops nearby and the neighborhood feels safe.
The hotel was clean and cosy, we got everything we needed, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and provided us with all the necessary information about transportation to Venice and with a map of Mestre. They also let us use the toilet and to store our luggage in the hotel for the full day after we already checked out. It was a really nice experience and we definitely recommend it.
The hotel has a very convenient location right in front of the train station in Mestre, with easy access to Venice either by train or bus. There is a discount for hotel clients at the parking lot right next to it, with reserved spots very close to the entrance for those with heavy luggage. The staff was super nice all the time and we were overall really satisfied with the experience.
The room was spacious. Located just 150m to the bus station & Venice mestre train station. Many food options near by. Room was well lit. Bathroom had towels, big basin and heating . The room had balcony too. Tv was big but only italian channels. Wi-Fi is there for multiple devices. Storage cabinets for clothes. Extra bed / cot in the room. Overall a superb experience with the hotel.
Great breakfast, everything was really good and fresh, diversity in the served foods, very good coffee. Location in the heart of Mestre with access to restaurants, shops, ice-cream, supermarket all within 2-5 minutes of walking. Personnel very helpful and kind! I would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely book it again the next time I am going to Venice!
The staff was friendly and helpful, very nice people working there, genuinely kind and helpful.
Close to a tram that takes you to Venice.
Bus stop 10 meters from the hotel - bus takes you to Mestre bus and train station.
The bed was comfortable and the pillow was not too big (high).
It was quiet, and I could sleep very well.
Air conditioning in the room.
This is a good hotel to stay for your visit to Venice. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to Venezia Mestre station 10 minutes to take the train to Venezia S.L. The hotel is clean and the shower is modern with a nice stream of water. The bed is O.K., maybe a little bit hard but not in a bad way. Breakfast was as you would expect, nothing spectacular but good.
Great location and alternative to staying in Venice Centre. Tram to Venice can be reached from the hotel after 5 min walk. Tram ride to Venice is about 15-20 min. Secure parking for the car is available and is charged with €10 per night which a reasonable rate. Mestre Centre can be reached after 15 min walk, nice restaurants and bars are available there.
Easily and fastly accessible from train station Venezia Mestre. From there, the train station Venezia Santa Lucia (= you're in old picturesque Venice) is just 5 minutes away, departing at regular intervals. The hotel has a new vibe, the breakfast is abundant and diverse (also fruits and vegetables to choose from) and at least our family room was spacious.
For a budget stay in Venezia, this hotel was fine. travel links to Venice were excellent with a bus stop a short walk away, and then a 20 minute trip to the centre. the swimming pool was nice although on the small side l, and the bar was nice enough. Great choice at breakfast, but pushy guest made it difficult for everyone.
This hotel is wonderful. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. The room had eveyething we needed; fridge, ac, big balcony, comfortable beds and bathroom. Breakfast was nice and customer service is really wonderful. Less than 5 min walk to mestre central station and the tram to venice.
This location is unbeatable if you go to Venice, but don't want to stay in the city. We stayed at the Hotel Plaza many times before and never been disappointed. Spacious and very clean rooms, very comfortable beds, basecamp very courteous staff, excellent parking, great breakfast. Recommend very highly!
5 mins walk from Mestre train station.
Bus station to Venice is just behind the hotel.
They even packed our breakfast on our request, as we had to leave before 7AM.
Hotel was very clean.
Lady at the reception has very good attitude and tries her best.
Very kind staff at the reception (Venezia Hotel, nearby), you can buy tickets there to visit Venice. The transport (bus/tram) to Venice is just a walking distance. The flat is just in the centre, you can reach everything very easy.
Perfect location, close to Venezia Mestre train station which provides quick and easy access to Venice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I really liked the room layout (the toilet, shower and basins are all separate).
the hotel is in walking distance with the Venezia Mestre Station and also the bus stop line 2 that goes to Venice directly. The building is well-renovated and it is very clean and comfortable.
It was clean, nice welcoming with Venezian classic style and location in the center , a few direct options to Venice , close to shopping mall many other coffee shops restaurants around
