Stayed for New year. In the middle of nowhere. Felt like we were on the moon. Geothermal pool and sauna were great. And northern lights bar very smart.

My family of five loved this house. It was my favorite of all the places we stayed during our week in the South. _We have three boys, ages 14, 12 and 10. We were able to spread out and relax in the hot tub and got to see the Northern lights! I don't usually enjoy cooking on vacation, but this clean, well-equipped kitchen with beautiful views and natural light made me want to eat in. Appreciated the coffee pods and my boys appreciated the hot chocolate! Highly recommend!
stunning hotel, would be a great retreat as it is very isolated. the pool and sauna is fantastic. Despite getting stranded there for an extra night die to the weather the one member of staff who stayed in the hotel (Ivanka) did everything she could to help and keep everything running. There are far worse places to have to stay an extra night! the food on offer was also stunning, some of the best we had in Iceland.
The design and modern architecture of this hotel was stunning, as was the scenery it was set against. I am not sure I can think of a cooler hotel I have ever stayed in. I loved the stilts and the spa that my son and I layed in at night watching the stars and hoping for the northern lights. The double ceiling bar was also super cool. The food was exceptional and were the cocktails. Staff were super friendly.
We were looking forward to our stay at ION and it far exceeded our expectations. Location is remote and beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, the restaurant was great and appreciated small touches like the welcome drink. But the highlight was when we got the midnight wake up call to go and see the Northern Lights - we could see them even from our room window! Truly spectacular.
fantastic location with amazing views of snowy mountains that could be enjoyed while Kyiv in bed thanks to the massive bedroom window. The thermal pool is fantastic and is open until 11pm so we really enjoyed sitting out looking at the stars. We ate lunch in the restaurant which was simple and delicious. a really special place to stay and we will be back!
Very cool hotel, just like the photos. We were greeted by friendly staff and were offered a welcome drink. The room was a nice size, no issues there. We enjoyed the hot pool as well. We loved the northern lights wake up call option, the hotel staff called in the middle of the night to tell us northern lights were visible! A nice little service!
The hotel is very well equipped in terms of facilities and most amenities, with the staff being very friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast and dinner meal options are generally very good and the Northern Lights bar is a highlight. Finally, our room was absolutely fine - comfortable bed, very clean and well equipped bathroom.
Loved the atmosphere and service. Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful. The spa was amazing and used it to every day. Delicious food. Would love to come back again. It was my husbands birthday and the hotel treated us so well with some nice surprises in our room and at dinner. Simply amazing.
The staff is very friendly! You will definitely love the vibes there when you stepped in the hotel. View from the room was great. The northern light wake up call service is fantastic! Thanks to the team so that we able to see the spectacular moment during our stay here!
Lovely hotel and the location is amazing. We loved the spa pool under the hotel and the Northern Lights bar. We were lucky to get the wakeup call for the Northern Lights and drove our hire car a little into the national park to get some photos. Overall a great stay!
Hotel is unique and I've always wanted to stay here. The views are amazing! Hot spring beneath hotel have great views of the mountains and lava fields. Room was clean, quiet and well furnished. The food at breakfast and dinner were great. Lots of selection.
Location is unusual. Geothermal pool was superb and it stayed open until 11pm which was a bonus. our bedroom was very comfortable. Breakfast is expensive but Iceland is expensive, the food at the hotel was good.
Beautiful hotel and room. The dinner at the hotel was excellent. The unique location and scenic surroundings of the hotel made it feel like total peace and seclusion yet only 30 minutes from Reykjavik.
Super cool and trendy hotel. Rooms are small. The pool is really nice, but it’s rather a plunge pool (knee deep). The northern light bar is magic!
You pay for the fame, but it’s worth it!
Outdoor geothermal pool and the location of the property.
Seeing aurora from the hotel was highlight!
