Our first impression of the hotel especially from the outside was not good because it appears old and weary. We were well received and showed to our room which was clean and tidy. The room is equipped with a fridge, kettle and coffee/tea, air conditioner, safe and hairdryer. The breakfast was good with friendly staff although the dining room is small and very crowded. Free parking maybe a problem but luckily we didn’t have any. Hotel is situated in an excellent location and walking distance from downtown.

Everything was great and as advertised. Breakfast was lovely with a lot ıf choices, exceeded our expectations. Possible a la carte restaurant for lunch or dinner which was a life saver for Easter where many places were closed. Room was very spacious and location easily reachable downtown. Spa area was small but very well maintained. Spent a lovely evening there. All in all great hotel, great service and amenities for a reasonable price. Do not hesitate

Nice pleasant 1 night stay. Hotel were responsive & helpful to my initial question & follow-up messages. Staff gave me a ground floor room after accommodating a late evening check-in. And would recommend.

My mom and I had a delightful stay in one of the hotel’s two-bedroom apartments. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and the fantastic location. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and were incredibly accommodating throughout our entire stay.
One of the highlights was the serene wellness area, which we were able to enjoy without the crowds due to the fewer number of guests during our visit.
Overall, our experience was exceptional, and we highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a clean, well-located accommodation with incredibly friendly staff!

There are amazing views over Pecs if , and that is a big if, the advertised views from your accommodation are real - often there is a view if you are in exactly the right room or part of the building, and if not, tough luck.
I have been there before and loved it; but the very disappointing room this time tainted the experience. So pick your place carefully - eg. don't be beguiled with stories of fabulous views over the city - check for yourself, and consider carefully if you would rather have a great view or easy and quick access to the many fantastic squares and buildings and museums etc. downtown and near downtown. There are excellent and reasonable places right downtown that will be comfortable and allow you to enjoy the city.

Pécs is a lovely place in Hungary with an expansive cultural heritage. The Cathedral, Széchenyi square and Zsolnay quarter are just a few of the must see spots. You can have very good food and wine (or beer) in Király street.
If you're feeling adventurous, Mecsek has the most amazing trails But even if you don't have whole day for hiking just make sure to visit Tettye and walk up to the observatory there.
Pécs is doable by foot most of the times, but has very accessible bus service as well. You can buy tickets on the bus with cash (forint).
Make sure to check the actual events (and book in advance) to experience the street market vibes, when all the best wineries of Hungary and traditional food stalls represent themselves.
See you in Pécs!

Pecs is a terrific little picturesque town with heaps of interesting churches, a mosque, a synagogue, museums and ancient burial sites. Most things are very close by. On Sunday everything is closed except cafes and it's like a ghost town which is good for avoiding hordes of tourists. Pecs is neat as a pin and would probably win a tidy town contest. There's plenty of food places and our favorite was the Korheli pub. I'm glad we chose to stop here for a couple of nights.

Not a crowded city, plenty of things to see. Older waiters and cashiers don't really speak foreign languages, even basic stuff was hard to convey to them, so have that in mind. Younger ones are more fluent in that department.

Many of the sights -- the Csontvary Museum, the Cathedral, in particular, are within easy walking distance of the Fonix hotel, where I stayed. The city is the home of a university, so the streets were filled with students and other young people. My trip was a Wednesday day trip by train from Budapest, so other than the main sights and the fact that the performance in the theatre was a one-man show in Hungarian, which I do not speak, I regret not having planned another, full day. The next time I visit Hungary, I'll spend a couple of days in Pécs; for what I saw whetted my appetite for more.

It's a beautiful city, has great restaurants, and quite a few things to do.
There are good places particularly for Italian food and seafood amazingly in this very landlocked city.
Plenty of quirky places to visit such as the cat cafe and the mosque church.
We booked this apartment on a whim, having decided to extend our stay in Hungary, and we were so fortunate it was available. The garden is gorgeous and the apartment is so full of light and calm, and very tastefully decorated. Parking was a breeze, and Zsuzsi was so welcoming and easy to communicate with. The location is perfect, just steps off a main drag full of cafes, restaurants and fun bars, which means we could make the most of this last-minute trip without having to do too much research in advance. I would highly recommend it!
The apartment is bigger than it looks on the pictures. Very spacious and clean, good WiFi connection, within walking distance from the city center and the shopping mall. Even though there is no parking provided within the building, there is plenty of parking available on the street. The hostess Marietta is very sweet and was helpful since the moment we booked the apartment until we left Pecs. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon. I will definitely recommend the apartment to everyone.
Nóra was a wonderful host! I arrived later than we agreed, and when I left, I accidentally locked some of my belongings in the room. On both occasions she was extremely graceful and accomodating. The apartment itself was perfectly clean, the kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, spring water and even a complimentary bottle of wine. The location is lively at night but the apartment was perfectly quiet and I had a great rest. Will be looking up Nóra next time I'm in Pécs!
Firstly, the staff at the hotel are good in English and they are really friendly and helpful. Second, the location of the hotel is perfect for a weekend tour in Pecs. It is close to the major tour sites, the basilica, the city szechyni square and the barbakan of course. The facility is quite good, especially the free private parking space the hotel offers. I only hope the elevator could work next time, so that seniors do not need using stairs after a tour in the city.
Good sized rooms although a little dated. Quiet at the back of the hotel. AC is quiet too. Staff speak excellent English and are very helpful and polite. Maybe the only people we met so far in Hungary who can smile when they deal with a customer. They stored our luggage for us and refilled my water bottle before we left. Top service!
This made up for the negatives and overall it was good value and ok for one night.
This comfortable, well located hotel is a great choice for anyone wishing to visit Pecs. It was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was what one would expect. My room was sizeable and well fitted out for self catering (of sorts) - no stove top or oven, but there's a microwave and a full set of dishes and cutlery - there's a supermarket about 70 meters away.
cute hotel right next to the city center. good size of the room, good breakfast and really helpful, nice staff. there's a pizza place next to the hotel, parking spot might not be available right next to the hotel, but check first with staff, when booking. They'll give you all the info you'll need to spend your time in Pecs as pleasant as possible
This hotel is really lovely. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the breakfast is excellent. We were there for multiple days and they have some different items available each day so it’s not just a repeat of the food. It’s located near the main square and is easy walking distance to many great places in Pécs.
Nice and clean flat, looks exactly like the photos. Has everything you need, including free wifi. It’s on a quiet street but only a short walk away from the very heart of Pécs. Will definitely be my first choice on my next visit.
Owners are friendly and super helpful.
A nice small hotel minutes from the main central square in Pecs. Parking was a bonus and at very little cost. The room was small but clean and tidy. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. We were allowed an early check- in which was much appreciated.
Stayed here for the 3rd time. Always very fond of this hotel, we consider it one of the best in Pécs. Excellent location. Room is very spacious with a big balcony, excellent view. Large bathtub, separate toilet. Two televisions.
An impeccably clean gem at the top of Pécs rented by an incredible hostess. A house on its own with two distinct spaces outside in the garden to relax. The place offers a calm atmosphere, peace, cosiness and comfort.
The view from the hotel is fabulous. The decor is very nice and unique. The breakfast is so good. Only one thing we don’t like is no elevator, but it’s understandable.
Thank you!
The hotels location is ideal to visit Pecs. Easy parking option in front of the hotel. Friendly staff, well maintained rooms. Good selection of breakfast.
