Dog-friendly hotel in an interesting and well-serviced village. Plenty of free parking surrounding the hotel which we made use of when the hotel’s small’ish car park was full. Breakfast was good - you paid extra for cooked dishes, but on a dish by dish basis (ie it wasn’t a lump sum); I had delicious porridge every morning. The bar attracts locals - always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our four-night stay, appreciating fully the hotel’s proximity to the excellent Scalloway Museum, the sites of the wartime Shetland Bus, the harbour and easy road access to Lerwick, Jarlshof and Sumburgh Head.
Modern & well equipped hotel 10 minutes walk from the town centre, nestling on the shore of Breiwick Bay. This attractive hotel is well equipped for the modern traveller and close to local amenities.

Staff were excellent. Location great overlooking sea but by hospital so buses to everywhere (including airport) easy walk to town/ferry port if buses not your thing. Good food in restaurant had an early start which the staff helped with. Enormous smart tv and coffee machine

Great character and charm. My room and bathroom had fabulous views. The property is built into the water. In heart of town. Great place being renovated but look past that.

The local knowledge from Amanda is second to none. She's extremely friendly and obviously loves the Islands. You are in safe hands throughout your stay. The hampers of breakfast goodies are an extra special treat along with the coffee machine. Everything is clean and smells fresh. I will definitely be back and will recommend it to others.

Our room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable indeed but we were puzzled that we had been allocated the family room in the attic as we are a couple in our seventies. We are pretty active so the extra stairs weren't a problem but they could have been. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The property is well positioned close to the centre of Lerwick with ample street parking. It was fully equipped, meticulously clean, the beds were comfortable and offered good value for money. Run as a family business they certainly take pride in their investment and without being intrusive ensure all you needs are met. Excellent accommodation.

A beautiful location, quiet and relaxing. It provided everything I needed for a comfortable work related visit to Shetland. A short car journey to Lerwick, with fantastic views that blow your mind.

Lovely little town. Shetland in general was great!
Lovely little town. Shetland in general was great! We enjoyed exploring, swimming (v cold!) and visiting local arts and craft shops/ galleries.
Food was amazing particularly no88 in Lerwick, worth booking for dinner.
Hamnavoe is very pretty and a trip to Bressay for a meal at the Maryfield hotel was fun. St Ninians isle was stunning! Puffins and cake at Sumburgh head a must as was Jarlshof just down the road which I thought was more impressive than Scara Brae on Orkney.

Scalloway is a lovely, small, friendly place.
Scalloway is a lovely, small, friendly place. Scalloway Hotel was brilliant for locally sourced foods - fabulous. Easy parking, good quality roads though hilly (of course!). We were there for photography and were not disappointed anywhere on the island that we travelled. Shetland is very helpful towards tourists.
It was a long journey to get there, and I would definitely recommend a cabin on the ferry across to Lerwick from Aberdeen.
We will definitely travel there again - and use the same base: Easterhoull Chalets in Scalloway.
