This is a gem of a hotel. Not too big, not too small; fabulous staff who can’t do enough for you (unobtrusively). The only drawback is I slept so utterly beautifully I missed breakfast! Despite being on a busy road it’s super-quiet, the room was perfectly appointed, the air-con efficient, I just wish I had more reasons to visit Richmond so it could become my London home-from-home. It’s wonderful.

The copper bath tub, but even the river view is not worth with a view, is disappointing as the windows steams up and condenses as there is not double glazing. They also don’t give any products to use in the bath,

During my travels through London, I have experienced numerous accommodations, and I must commend the Selwyn Hotel for making a truly remarkable impression. The atmosphere was exceptionally warm and welcoming, a perfect respite following our journey from the States. The comfort of the beds significantly enhanced our first night's stay.
Located in Richmond, the hotel was an ideal base for exploring local sites. The staff consistently extended a warm welcome, making our visit even more enjoyable. The manager personally ensured that we were well cared for, further exemplifying the hotel's commitment to outstanding guest service. Each staff member we encountered was both friendly and professional.
I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit to London, during which I intend to return to the Selwyn Hotel. This stay was a standout experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking exceptional hospitality.

Didn’t get chance to see more than the park but it was worth the stay just for that. We were visiting for a sporting event nearby and we were perfectly situated. The surrounding area looked lovely, very green and clean. Walking in London and seeing wild deer is a must

Beautiful place.
Beautiful place. Loads of lovely small back streets with unique shops to wander down. Loads of places to eat out. Views from the bridges were amazing. Everything once parked up just seemed within walking distance.

We liked the restaurants and cafés.
We liked the restaurants and cafés. There are many interesting places to visit nearby. We enjoyed Syon Huse, Osterley House and the London Wetland Centre. It's an easy train journet to Waterloo Station for Central London. I wouldn't want to live under the Heathrow flight path.

The staff at reception were incredibly polite and helpful. The staff at the spa desk weren’t as approachable however this didn’t bother us or impact our stay.
Our room was lovely!!!! Beds were so comfy and I absolutely loved the double sinks!!
The bathroom was huge, I loved it! The heated towel rack is also a winner.
the free sherry and gin is a lovely touch and so is the free bedside water.
Breakfast served to on the room free of charge is something other hotels should definitely consider! This is something that guests appreciate.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and understanding of our multiple changes to the reservation dates. They worked with us on extending our stay and being able to stay in the same room the whole time. We appreciated the electric kettle, coffee, tea, milk, and extra blanket in the room. The hotel is right by the train station and close to shopping so that we could get around easily. It was a quiet and safe neighborhood. It was a lovely stay.
The location overlookng the Thames is beautiful.
The apartment is close to good restaurants and supermsrkets if you wish to cook in.
Richmond Station is a 10 minute walk away and has Underground Overground and National Rail Services.
Hampton Court, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park are close by as is Twickenham Stoop and Stadium for Rugby enthusiasts.. Central London is easily a accessible by public transport
Hampstead Heath is a short Overground trip away
The Amazing grounds; which are always so beautifully cared for. (Whatever the weather/season) .This is a genuine oasis. I can’t believe it exists so close to London .commute by train and bus From Surbiton:-50 minutes. Teddington train 40 minutes. Perfect for the West End and anything in central London Once found you will keep Coming back. It was super posh, but has now moved with the times and is elegant, but not stuffy ; Casual elegance .
We had stayed before, about 15 years ago. Everything about the stay was great and it was shame it was only for one night. We particularly like the location. The visit was a mini break. We had had an afternoon in Kew Gardens before arrival and went in to London on the following day before returning home. It was good not to have to drive either. We live just outside Bristol and the using the train was perfect. We will come again!
Found our flat at the end of a terrace with street parking, which the owners arranged a permit for. Access was up a flight of stairs to the first floor flat. Good space with everything we needed for 3 nights close to London. Richmond is a great area and the location provided easy access to the city as well as town and public transport and amenities.
It feels like a country house hotel but it's only 15 minutes walk from the centre of Richmond, a vibrant town with lots of shopping, dining and scenic attractions, such as the River Thames, or Richmond Park. Also you can get to central London in only 30 minutes by train.
The dining room has a wonderful view over the river and countryside around.
The Room was comfy, clean and plenty big enough. Good location, easy links to central London via tube or bus. A short walk to Richmond Centre with plenty of restaurants, river and parks. Good breakfast (I didn't try other food during my stay). Friendly staff. Quiet location despite being central as it's just off the main routes.
This hotel is amazing. It's so quaint and lovely at Christmas time. The rooms are really comfy, the tub was a delight, and it's so very quiet.
It also has a fantastic location for everything you want to do in Richmond, and the tube is just a few minutes away and an easy shot into London.
The location is fantastic - only a couple of minutes walk to the Richmond Green, shops and the station which takes you in to central London in about 20 minutes.
This hotel is charming and the staff are wonderful and attentive.
I really thought it was a hotel. I had wanted to stay at a pub that had rooms upstairs. This is exactly that! I loved all the staff, the food, and the accommodations. I really enjoyed visiting with the staff.
My favorite hotel in Richmond with real personality, friendly staff, unbeatable location for town, and great facilities. Family and friends stayed here multiple times.
Great location, clean room, stylish, friendly and efficient staff. Felt covid-safe at all times. Great breakfast menu. Good price for a hotel just outside London.
