What a wonderful place. The location by brotherswater amongst the mountains is fantastic, easy to get to, and a must for any hillwalking fans. The car park is spacious and the road leading up to it via Ullswater is easy.
From the moment we arrived and checked in we were looked after as though we were the only people there, our stay throughout had a really personal touch. It is very much recommended to book a table as it does get busy for evening meals, but we were given a lovely table both nights with spectacular views and the food is delicious, big portions and real pub classics available.
The room is very comfortable and also affords excellent views.
We can't wait to go again and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff (all of them) who were attentive, informative, and offered such charm and care in everything they did. I've never been so well treated and felt so relaxed on a break in the Lakes, 5 stars all the way.

Absolutely stunning location. Chef Chris went over and above with his professionalism and hosting making us an excellent dinner as we had arrived 10 minutes after the kitchen closed. A great finish to the evening as we had driven all day from Scottish Highlands!

Good, prompt service at the Reception desk as well as the restaurant.
Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff. Ideal base for walking surrounding fells, and close enough to Glenridding with ulswater also a short walk away. When here you feel like you have escaped the crowds and can relax, definitely be coming again.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step.
Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe.
Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere.
Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere. The scenery is spectacular and a haven for walkers of all capabilities and water sports. We found the area beautiful and like being abroad. Definitely will be coming back to walk and do some fishing. We made our way to the White Lion pub which is a focal point for both visitors and locals serving excellent food and a variety of local beers.

A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away.
A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away. Between the two villages they offer a selection of shops and pubs/hotels. There are countless walks and fells straight out of the door of your hotel. Ullswater in nearby and offers great water sport activities or just boat cruise for the less adventurous.
Amazing location and great staff on our first nights stay here at the Patterdale hotel. The food is exceptional and the breakfast is top quality. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with some of the comfiest beds available for a great nights sleep. I would love to visit the lakes again and if I do this is the place I will stay.
We stayed for two nights here. The staff were very nice. The area around the hotel is quite pretty and the lake is close. There is also a pub just down the street where you can go for drinks or dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was quite nice and included eggs done several ways which we appreciated.
Perfect Location for trip into the fells high or low and less than 5 minute walk to Patterdale itself. Staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of tea and coffee in room so could make up flask for the day. Enjoyed the view from the room and that it was by the river. Drying room also very handy.
Good value for money .stunning mountain views.had a nice bath in bath room comfy beds .nice buffet breakfast .anita the lady behind the bar very helpfull made sure the open fire was lit for us in the hotel lounge on the second night .would definatly stay here again .
Stunning location in patterdale . Couldn't appreciate on arrival as it was dark . Upon waking the views were special and dropping onto walking routes .
Nice room and guest lounge , would suit family and friends occupying the 3 rooms together . Good breakfast .
This pub is a very short distance off our Tour of the Lake District walking route about 45 minutes walk south of Patterdale. The staff were very helpful and the dinner was good, the breakfast was one of the best we had and the packed lunch was excellent.
The hosts were really welcoming and helpful. The location was great, unfortunately nowhere to get an evening meal in Patterdale so we had to walk to the next village. My room was cold. Breakfast okay but no more. Lovely homemade marmalade
The staff the hotel and the setting are all absolutely amazing. We were taken great care of and the food was to die for. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.
Crookabeck is a beautiful little farm located just outside of Patterdale on the coast to coast walk. We loved everything about our stay there - location, rooms, breakfast - and would always come back.
Third visit to this hotel which in itself speaks volumes. Just love the quiet location. Everything you need is to hand including fabulous, if a little expensive, food.
the location was amazing,a beautiful quiet spot away from main roads but only by a couple of minutes away from patterdale and glenridding,we would definately go again
