Lovely old town with plenty of shops, particularly individual, local shops. Good place to walk around and plenty of eating places and coffee shops to take a break. Great history around the town from Roman times. Unfortunately we didn't have time to investigate all the places of interest. A particular place to mention was Sudeley Castle which was an absolute gem.

Cirencester has almost everything a visitor would want from a market town including a Saturday food and produce outside market and a arts and crafts indoor market. This is alongside many high street chain shops as well as small independent shops. There are many restaurants, wine bars and pubs as well to choose from covering all sorts if tastes and preferences.

There is an interesting mix of shops, arts arts and crafts, parkland, cafes and historical sites. The church is beautiful inside and is worth a revisit to take it all in. The historical buildings from different centuries side by side give it character and is a surprise each time you walk through an alley or turn a corner.
The food sold on the farmers market is a good quality and mix and the craft market is also high quality.
We will be revisitng.

The market square, overlooked by St John's church - 'the cathedral of the Cotswolds' is very beautiful. The church is staggering - very large and ornate - an architectural jewel. Parking in town was easy enough (April, Easter holidays).
The market outside the church (we were there on a Friday morning) was small but all of the stalls were interesting, with very high-quality fish, vegetables and bakery.
We ate well at our hotel, the Stratton House just out of town on the Gloucester Road.

Have never known a town with so many shopping arcades.
Have never known a town with so many shopping arcades.
Also a good market in the square on Friday & Saturday, a good variety of stalls.
The Corinium Museum showing the towns Roman past is well worth a visit.
The hotel breakfast - fresh fruit was very nice, the cooked breakfast wasn't very hot at all. Nice selection of pastries and coffees/teas though.
Location was good - the town of Cirencester is less than 15 mins drive away and there was a bus service just outside the hotel on main road.
Dog friendly lots of poop bins and dog station washes to use.
The spa swimming pool was nice.
Friendly and good staff.
We went out of season so some of the nearby and on site restuarants were closed during our visit.
We liked everything about the hotel: the decor, cleanliness, location (near town centre and nature reserve), very friendly and professional staff, value for money, extra touches (such as water and milk in the fridge supplied every day, coffee machine making lovely coffee, etc.) and amazing breakfast!
We had a dinner in the hotel's restaurant and it was a great experience too.
What we really like was the attention to detail - well done Ingleside House staff!
The property has a great location in the middle of the Cotswolds so easy access to the towns around. It’s very modern and cozy, and it has everything you need. The room has beautiful toiletries with great smell. The staff is very friendly, professional and very attentive. I mentioned that staying at the hotel was a birthday treat for my boyfriend, and the staff left a birthday card and a box of chocolates for him at our arrival. Very thoughtful!! :)
The family that owned the property were incredibly welcoming, accommodating and friendly. I felt very comfortable there and it is only a half hour walk to the town centre. It is a very peaceful neighbourhood/estate. My bed was comfortable and the room was generously sized with space to do exercise and a desk.
The shower was so powerful, which I loved. I'd definitely come back :)
Hotel was decorated to a high standard and was in a a very central location in Cirencester, Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were delicious and the communal areas were comfortable and cosy.
Room was finished to a very good standard and had all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.
A true hidden gem. First, the staff is exceptionally friendly, letting you feel like you are visiting family—a very well-maintained and cozy hotel. Breakfast and dinners were delicious, and we couldn't be more grateful to the Chef who was kind enough to follow our requests.
The location is ideal, in the heart of Cirencester. The staff was very friendly, from the reception, the breakfast, to the bar. We enjoy having a solid English breakfast to start our day.
We will definitely come back and stay at The Fleece again.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Charging my EV car was simple on this occasion. I requested that no popcorn be left in my room (i have no will power) and that was accommodated. This is now my go to hotel when working at Cotswold Airport
The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, I had booked deluxe room so it was bigger than average and had a lovely view over the garden. Great location for walking into Cirencester town centre, so didn't use our car again until we went home.
Great location for touring the Cotswolds
Good all round hotel, friendly efficient staff, dinning room food above average hotel food at reasonable price. room large and more than adequate for the price.
we would stay again if in the area.
My family spend two weeks traveling England, from IoW to London, and The Old Brewhouse was our absolute favorite. Perfect location in Cirencester, gorgeous house, and the best breakfast I think I’ve ever tasted.
Thank you, Rosemary!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Kings Head Hotel. Excellent room and the staff all very friendly. Dinner was great in the Brasserie, apparently one of the best steaks my father had consumed and he's a chef! We will be back.
The Eliot Arms is outstanding Cotswolds accomodation. The rooms are excellent and there is a quality bar and restaurant within the hotel. The staff are very engaged. I look forward to staying again.
Hotel, room and facilities were all really good and staff very helpful and friendly. Could not fault the Fleece if you are thinking of a stay in Cirencester.
