There are few hotels that deserve the title of 'unique' - but this is one of them! Pre-ordered breakfast is served in the main house dinning room, surrounded by WW2 flying artifacts including the nose cone & pilots cabin from a C47 (Dakota/DC3) aircraft and a table made from a BF1009 engine... D Day Aviators is an extraordinary and eclectic place to stay - full of surprises, delight and interest even for those not fascinated by the last war or flying. Owners Paul and Anne (both qualified pilots) are brilliant hosts who make you feel super welcome and that you've known them for years (this was our first visit) and will happily explain all the items & pictures on display. Close to the beach and restaurants, a cross between a hotel and a museum but with friendly 'curators', this is a special and quirky hotel and we can't wait to go back.

Really nice and probably underrated village that doesn't seem to be on the tourist radar. Has everything you need, though beware of course the only grocery store closes very early particularly on Sundays.

We stopped in this location as we were visiting the D Day...
We stopped in this location as we were visiting the D Day sites and memorials and this is a PERFECT location for this. A 5 minute wall has you on the beaches and your are within 30 minutes drive of pretty much everything you might want to visit. Lovely location, quiet and comfy but we were in off season to the local town was closed most evenings bar 1 restaurant which was poor, especially for France. If you are looking for a solid location for D Day sites this is a superb choice.

Arromanches-Les-Bains is perfectly situated to explore all the places of interest without staying in a town. Having the beach on your doorstep is relaxing. My only complaint is that the restaurants are expensive and touristy as are the shops.

I would, however recommend installing a wifi access point for the rooms which are out of reach for proper wifi usage. We sat in the lounge/ reception area as our room had no reception it was lovely too. But certainly for the hotel it would prove wonderful and folks would not invade the reception area. But a truly marvelous hotel and felt very welcoming.

The hotel is in a fantastic location in the village and the car park was very close to the hotel. There was a great breakfast available, at an extra cost, and the hotel staff were most helpful.
