Good option to save on a stay in Puerto Varas. It's an older hotel, the room had a comfortable bed and a very good shower. Heating is good. They serve a complimentary afternoon tea which is only that, tea and some biscuits, but very nice to warm you up. Breakfast is good with a nice selection. Although this hotel is not by the lake, it's not very far from it either -- good if you are travelling by car. Parking is limited and you must leave the keys with the staff.

The location is excellent to explore the sights around the Eastern part of the lake. AWA is directly on the shore of Llanquihue with fantastic views over the vulcano. There is a little beach to relax if you have time. It's great if you have a room at a higher level with those views. Nice welcome drink and we had half board, i.e. dinner in the hotel restaurant which was very good and came with two glasses of wine included. The head of excursions was fabulous and extremely helpful - we only had one full day but he sorted us out with three activities and tips.

Traditional property in a residential compound in Puerto Varras. Lots of wood, charming and very in character for the South of Chile. Secure parking. Rooms are fine, bathroom is definitely on the small side. Bed was comfortable and heat worked well. Nice breakfast area/lounge that is good for working or hanging out. Property is about a block from the beach. But to walk to the center of Puerto Varras takes 15-20 minutes.

A very jolly town, clearly doing quite well. All the locals we spoke to were friendly and helpful, particularly the tourist Info in centre of town.
We rented a car for a couple of days from Morris at Sur Car Rental, hilarious and good value.
Mi gusto Puerto Varas!

Went mid October and weather can be a factor. Wanted to get a tour of volcano and park rangers closed the road due to deep snow. Rest of town was nice to walk and stroll around. People were very friendly and helpful.

The Vinoteca at the lake offers great food, combined with an amazing variety of wines, sold at the same price in-store as in the restaurant.

Very beautiful city and surroundings.
Very beautiful city and surroundings. There are a lot of places and natural wonders to visit, any tourist would be impressed. Puerto Varas has a rich history which would amaze any curious mind. I arrived by bus since there are no flights between intermediate cities in Chile and it was very disappointing to find out that there is no proper bus terminal. My bus arrived at 5 am and we had to sit in the floor until a taxi appeared and he took us to the only 24h store in the city, which would only sell through a small window. We had to sit down again on the floor until the sun came out.

Most beautiful city of Chile so far!
Most beautiful city of Chile so far! Convenient transport from the Airport, very beautiful lake view of the volcano, felt safe. Much better place to stay than Puerto Montt, if you are deciding between those two.

This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do.
This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do. You can go ski to the Osorno Volcano and spend a full day there. Saltos del Petrohue are so beautiful that you can stay half day there. And going south to Chiloé is something you need to do.
The breakfast was wonderful - Options for eggs, toast, cereal, fruit, tea/coffee, jams and even kuchen. It was a good spread and we enjoyed a good start to the day! The Casa is absolutely gorgeous, with aesthetic spaces to read, a lagoon full of nesting birds, gardens et all. Close to Puerto Varas and Frutillar! We chose to have dinner here on our last day (no restaurants in Llanquihue) and it was delicious, esp. the dessert. The staff was wonderful, special mention to Ivonne, who was a delight to converse with.

Beautiful hotel, decorated and maintained with loving touches referencing the German heritage of the owners beyond the name. Being 3 people, we had an apartment with a wood-fuelled stove to ourselves. While the jacuzzi was out of order and we were only staying for 1 night, we could easily see how it could be enjoyable with its incredible view of Puerto Varas.
It was a nice 10 - 15 min walk to the city center, with a great coffee place on the way.
Puerta del lago was a very comfortable stay. The hotel is located 10 minutes away from downtown (if walking you'll go up a slope, nothing terrible but might be a problem for elderly) and located in a very quiet area, despite being super close to everything. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was complete, with service to the table in a very efficient fashion. The rooms and bed were comfy.
The staff were consistently professional and friendly. The hotel was beautiful architecturally. Our bed was amazingly comfortable as were the pillows. Our room (704) had a balcony and was bright with large wi diws and very pretty views. We loved the location, a little away from the crowds and noise but still an east walk to the shops and restaurants.
Nice, historic house now a B and B. Comfortable rooms and bed, nice surroundings near a small lake with a lot of wildlife, attentive staff, very good breakfast. No complaints whatsoever, except that location is a little inconvenient. No direct road from Puerto Vara's to hotel...must take highway and pay toll. Not expensive, but annoying.
Room was very nice, good quality of the bed, nice reception and great location in Puerto Varas.
Also the staff was very helpful and check in process was a breeze. I was a given a high floor room according to my reservation request.
If booked in advance, I found the price quite reasonable for the good quality.
Simón was super welcoming and a great communicator. Even though I couldn’t speak much spanish I still felt taken care of. The room had a cute street view and was walking distance from a couple of great restaurants and a bodega. Would definitely stay here again when I come back to Puerto Varas!
We loved our stay at Casa Azul, lovely hostel with care in every detail. From the rooms, to the shared kitchen, and bonsai garden. Everything was perfect. You must try the homemade kombucha. Absolutely amazing. We loved it, and already eager to visit puerto Varas again and stay at Casa Azul.
lovely welcome - great location, fab room with fantastic facilities - was actually a family cabin and very reasonable for the price.
was just a brief stop over but a great start to our Chilean adventure.
thanks MaPatania and the lovely staff (Geraldine I think ?)

The hotel has a magnificent view of the lake and Osorno volcano. It has a cozy design with natural wood and fireplace. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff is among the best we have encountered in Chile. The breakfast was also good with fresh-made croissants.
Close to the centre of Puerto Varas. Typical Chilean breakfast-eggs, pastries etc. Nice view from the mirador of the hotel which has some lounges, and would make a nice area for a few cervezas or vinos at the end of the day. Its decent value gor a low price.
This is a charming historic inn/hotel. The property has a magnificent lake view and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The staff spoke very little English and we spoke very little Spanish but they were patient with us and it all worked out great.
The location of the property is great, you can park your car safely and walk to the center of Puerto Varas in 5 min. our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and also very clean. Would definitely return here.
Traditional Chilean wooden house.
Good place. Easy check in. Close to the beautiful waterfront and bars / restaurants. It is a decent walk I to the city but a bus passes right past the door. Easy and cheap use.
Free tea and coffee.
Very welcoming hotel. The hot tub was a great surprise. There was plenty of food at breakfast and the common areas were very homely. The view of Puerto Varas has excellent
clean, well maintained, easy access down to the beach by the elevator/stairs in the hotel, great breakfast, friendly staff, great amenities, massages, the view is amazing.
