The location in Barrie felt safe. I trusted leaving my vehicle parked overnight in the outdoor parking lot. Clean room and the bed was comfortable. I felt the price was fair for the room that was described.

We booked the room only because it said there was no cancellation fees. We got there and noticed not one car was in the parking lot. A homeless person was staking out our vehicle while we checked the room’s cleanliness. After seeing the room, we chatted with the clerk which was very rude as we asked to cancel. He said it couldn’t be cancelled and to call bookings.com. When booking with this site, it clearly said ‘can cancel anytime with no cancellation fee). I am very disappointed and would not recommend this site.

The city itself was fine.
The city itself was fine. It seems to have a lot of activities. However, I did not sleep well due to the mattress and because the room was hot. So my enjoyment was diminished due to my sleeplessness. I wish I had stayed elsewhere and perhaps I would have enjoyed my stay much better.

Beautiful city and waterfront.
Beautiful city and waterfront. A lot of street construction going on but traffic still flowed pretty well. Restaurants are fabulous with terrific food and service. We ate at the Mandarin all you can eat and Flashback was a good affordable breakfast.

Beautiful waterfront, beach, very walkable.
Beautiful waterfront, beach, very walkable. We enjoyed the Kempenfelt festival...arts, crafts, music & food. Lakefront parking is very expensive at $10.00 per hour but there is much cheaper parking at the north end (Bayfield at Lakeshore) across the road from the lake. Barrie does not have any public transportation along the lake. There was a shuttle bus running for part of the festival but not clearly advertised or marked.

This is the first time we stayed at Travelodge.
This is the first time we stayed at Travelodge. My wife and I were very pleased with the great quality, amazing staff and prime location of this hotel in Barrie. Our air conditioner was not working well in room. However, staff moved us immediately to another room. Breakfast was simple but fresh, tasty and sufficient for our needs. I would absolutely recommend this Travelodge to everyone looking for clean, relatively inexpensive, relaxing and centrally located hotel. We travel a lot for leisure and this place is one of the top hotels we ever stayed in.

It is a lovely city.
It is a lovely city. Checked out the waterfront which was gorgeous and well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of this venue. If you have a car there are numerous restaurants to choose from, plus lots of places to shop for whatever you feel like shopping for. I will definitely be back to explore Barrie. Very friendly owners of the venue.
Stayed at Allure in Barrie because it is a pet accepted hotel. We have a working dog and required this feature of the hotel. Bed was very comfortable and clean, although the smell of every cigarette smoked since the early 90’s still resonates in the room and common areas. Carpets stank and wallpaper was extremely dated. Sinks and toilets were clean but the hotel is so dated it seems like it is slatted for the wrecking ball shortly. With no pets we would so stay somewhere else as the price was fair but other hotels offer same rates.
Heated ceramic floor, full internet &cable tv as well as large bath tub and seperate stand up shower stall complete this very large modern waswroom. The main room had very large comy bed with another 60" televison . Small kitchennete between the 2 rooms included microwave, bar fridge, coofe maker etc. All appliances, furniture, bathroom fixtures are very up to date. Well worth the drive from Downtown T.O. equivalent to a 4 or 5 star hotel at motel prices.
An Anne of Green Gables experience. The house features on the 1924 map and could be older.
The large, quiet and slightly overgrown garden,
The walk Into town down Bayfield . Barrie is a good place for a meal or a drink
The longer walk (about 2 miles) by the bay to Allandale Station and the slow scenic train ride to Union Station in downtown Toronto (and back) , much better than going by car.
We went to see my brother-in-law and his family in Barrie for the weekend with my in-laws. We had adjoining rooms, with a good in house restaurant/bar, with a decent pool.
The location is also close to many of the places we were going in Barrie. This hotel has large grounds - great for kids to play outside.
I love that they provide a full breakfast you just have to show proof of vaccination. It's definitely preferable to what most hotels are offering for breakfast. Room is spacious and bed was so comfortable. Staff was friendly. Back entrance was convenient as front parking lot was always full at night.
Very easy to locate this hotel from both directions on the highway. Made staying here the perfect rest stop for our day trip to Toronto and returning after our event. The breakfast was fantastic. Several options which made it great for the different members of my family to find something they'd eat.
Clean, cozy, nice quiet neighbourhood, ample parking, and it’s 3 bedrooms for the equal price of a double bed hotel room. Also I forgot a bag at the house once we vacated and the host made super convenient arrangement to retrieve.
This outwardly "convenient, well appointed, typical nice place to stay near Barrie" hotel is a hidden gem. The place and the staff led by Tone are first rate friendly... great unexpected travel experience ... I shall return!!!
Breakfast was good much better than we had expected. Room was a good size room and accommodated our family plus baby well. The room and the hotel in general were clean and most important;y warm.
My children enjoyed the pool.
Always a great place to stay. Two bedroom suite works really well for two co-workers. Full size fridge is appreciated. Easy to access downtown Barrie. Great parking which easily accommodated our truck and trailer.
great location in central Barrie. Easy access to GO train station and bus station for onward travel. Comfortable bed, nice size room, cutlery/fridge/microwave setup excellent. Great bathroom (tile pattern etc...)
A reasonably new (2009) hotel that is in a convenient location. There is a typical breakfast buffet. The room was problem-free and everything worked. The bathroom was good, the wireless was good.
The staff were friendly and I had limitless tea if I wanted! The hotel is next to the main Highway 400 and therefore gives easy access around and in and out of Barrie.
Nice to have a proper continental breakfast for a change. Staff were polite. Room was clean and AC worked nicely (we've had issues with both in other hotels.)
