We really liked the history and authenticity of the place, the feeling that it had once been a home and retained some of the original features. There is a nice spot to make coffee or tea, and we slept amazingly well, but you need to be mindful of other guests as the walls are thin. The location was really convenient, easy walk from the train station and the castle. We particularly enjoyed the food (delicious dinner and breakfast) and the kindness of the staff. Fabulous experience.

Ubytovanie Takimi Onsen Inn that only accepts one group per day sa nachádza v destinácii Nagiso 9,1 km od miesta Otsumago a má výhľad na hory. An incredible once in a life time authentic Japanese experience with charming hosts in an beautiful natural setting. The arrival lounge, onsen and breakfast room with the view towards the falls and the sound of them roaring while you soak in the onsen are spectacular. The food and presentation by the host Koike-san was delicious and a work of art and the dining room with an irori (indoor fire pit) was a special treat as was the Japanese breakfast. I only eat fish and poultry which was accommodated beautifully but Koike-san specialists in wild meats including local boar so for guests who love that, I am sure it would be delicious. (Note - we had one beer each and that was charged separately, cash only). Koike-san picked us up from the Tsumago carpark number 1 after we walked the Nakasendo Trail from Magome to Tsumago and he dropped us off the next day at the Nagiso train station where we caught the express train around 11am back to Nagoya.

Our stay at Kiso no Yado Iwaya was wonderful! The room was cozy, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the dinner was absolutely delicious — a true taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a traditional experience!

Located in the heart of Nozawa Onsen, Tanuki offers guests a traditional accommodation with Japanese-style rooms that feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Great location and apartment. We booked last minute so it was heavily discounted which made it great value for money.

Ubytovanie Ryokan Warabino sa nachádza v destinácii Takayama 12 km od miesta Mestská zoo Suzaka a 24 km od miesta Chrám Zenkoji. The entire experience was wonderful, totally unique, like nothing we've ever done before. The food was amazing, I am vegetarian and they made an extra special effort to make sure that I had just as good food as my meat and fish eating husband. The onsens were great, very relaxing.
