The hospitality at Riad Layalina Fes, was incredible, we felt so welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. They helped organise transfers, offered tea and treats and were very generous providing local advice. The room and facilities were spotless and we can’t wait to come back!

The only thing is the entrance is not the most convenient form the street, it could have been more clearly marked. But I think this is more of a Fes issue rather than the riad itself.

For the price especially, our expectations were exceeded! Lovely riad, beautifully decorated, the most friendly staff, delicious home-cooked breakfast and dinners. Would highly recommend it!

Nothing we had a perfect time

Beautiful decor and the staff - we loved Asma - were so so kind. They really made it feel like we were at home staying with family and they even decorated our bed beautifully for our honeymoon. We were truly touched by the great service. The guide they organised Abdul was also special, he knew the medina like the back of his hand and even left us a little present for our marriage. It was also perfect location right outside the city walls so you could go back and have a breather on the beautiful terrace. Can’t recommend the place enough.

This place is truly exceptional, and our stay was unforgettable! A special mention goes to the gentlemen from the hotel staff, who took such wonderful care of us. They are incredibly kind and warm-hearted people. Throughout our stay, they made sure we lacked nothing. They treated me like a brother, which was truly special. We felt like part of a family here! It is thanks to them that our stay became unforgettable. I sincerely hope we will meet again one day! The lady from the hotel prepared for us the best couscous we have ever eaten in our lives. She also took great care of us. The couscous may seem a little expensive, but it is absolutely worth the price, and I highly recommend it. The riad is finished in a very tasteful style. I recommend paying attention to the details – they are simply stunning! This was the most beautiful riad we stayed in during our long journey through Morocco! Once again, I would like to thank the entire Riad Layalina team for this extraordinary time. I truly hope to see you again.

Very little we could fault - an excellent stay.

This riad ticked the boxes on all points. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and they were great at organising anything we needed. The room was large and comfortable, the pool was lovely and refreshing after a hot day of walking and the location could not be faulted - literally right next door to the medina. The owner, Jerome, was extremely prompt on all communications prior to arriving which we also appreciated.

Great location, very quaint and traditional. Loved the little pool on the patio Staff couldn’t do enough to help, and we even got an upgrade to a suite when we arrived.

Riad Layalina is an exceptional place. The surroundings are authentic, full of character and beautifully maintained, the beds are super comfortable and the location is just perfect for exploring the medina. The breakfast is fresh and hearty with a different selection of fruits, breads, preserves and cooked sundries each day and the setting overlooking the old city walls is divine. Not only that but the staff are marvellous, with a genuine desire to make your stay truly wonderful. We began our stay as guests and left as friends.

The building is stunning — wonderful stucco, wood and tile work everywhere, a gorgeous courtyard and pool, great views from the rooftop and the second floor, as well as lovely interiors. The riad is just a couple of minutes away from Talaa Kebira (the main artery of the Medina), and yet, the atmosphere was very peaceful and serene, a much appreciated break from the bustle of Fes. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive - Asma and Zacharias arranged walking tours and restaurant reservations for us, helped us put our food in plates and bowls whenever we brought restaurant leftovers home, and overall made us feel at home. The included breakfast is one of the best I have ever had: fresh orange juice, Moroccan tea, various types of freshly baked bread, eggs, marmalades, cheese… all served to us personally (not a buffet). We couldn’t ask for more — we will be coming back.

We spent two nights at Riad Layalina Fès and were thoroughly satisfied. The location is ideal – right next to the Medina, yet still easily accessible by car. One particular highlight was the secure parking in the courtyard – a real advantage in Fès and it saved us a lot of hassle. We were able to upgrade our originally booked room to a spacious suite for a small additional charge – definitely worth it. The accommodation itself is a traditionally decorated riad full of charm, tastefully furnished, and very clean. Breakfast on the terrace was traditional and delicious – with a wonderful view over the rooftops of Fès, it was the perfect start to the day. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive – we felt well taken care of at all times. Especially helpful was their recommendation and organization of a private guide for a four-hour tour of the Medina. The guide was excellent – knowledgeable, personable, and very responsive to our interests. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable. We would return without hesitation and can highly recommend this riad.

I loved staying at Riad Layalina. I was nervous staying in Fes at the end of July that the temperature would be uncomfortable (I’m from the UK) but I found it was manageable and I’m so glad I went. The riad is beautiful and very comfortable. The pool is lovely and cool and the air conditioning in my room was good (it’s a little noisy but this can’t be helped). The team who work there are lovely and incredibly helpful. It’s in a great, quiet location on the edge of the medina. It’s easy to access by taxi or car but within close walking distance of many of the main sights and nice restaurants. I went sight seeing in the mornings, spent the hot afternoons relaxing in the cool of the riad and then headed out again in the evenings. I spent 5 days there which was perfect as I didn’t want to be rushing around trying to see everything in the heat. I would definitely go back.

There were steep stairs to get to room, so something to be aware of if you have mobility issues.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was very convenient, they had secure parking for the car. We stayed 3 nights. The interior of the Riad was beautifully decorated and the room comfortable. The hospitality was outstanding. Asma made us delicious and generous portion breakfast included every day and we had 2 delicious dinners (for small extra fee). Asma is a great cook and she was the sweetest most helpful person! Jerome was always very helpful on where to go and gave us excellent recommendation for a guide for the Medina and an amazing restaurant for dinner. The terrace had a very nice view. Very enjoyable stay.

We liked everything, staff were just lovely people. Asmae the cook, cooks very well and is a lovely woman. The traditional decoration is beautiful. The central courtyard with its plunge pool is a lovely place to sit morning or evenng.

Beautiful little Riad right on the old city wall. Steps from the Medina, with private parking. The staff were outstanding - responsive and helpful at every turn. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Great choice for Fes!

The staff is kind, helpful, and attentive to individual needs. The rooftop terrace is stunning, with extraordinary views over Fes, and the entire property is spotlessly clean and peaceful. Breakfast is excellent, and they are happy to accommodate special requests. A truly memorable experience in a Riad full of character and beauty.

Everything from the ease of the onsite parking to the kind and helpful staff made our stay great. Upon our arrival we were greeted with tea, fruit, and cookies—starting things off on a great foot. Plus, it’s so convenient to get into the thick of the Medina without having to be right in it.

Great location on the beginning of medina, car accessible with private closed parking. Riad is even better than on the pictures, beautiful view from the roof where you can drink tea and take a rest after exploring Fés. Beautifully decorated.

The smell of the sewage in the bathroom was a bit strong at times but I guess this is a common problem in the old houses of the Medina.

We loved the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. They did everything to accommodate our needs.

Asmaa and Jerome were delightful hosts. The cooking class with Asmaa was the highlight of our trip to Fes! Decor and atmosphere of the riad were top quality. Don't miss the rooftop. Stunning views and peaceful, relaxing setting. Love the comfortable bed. Their orange juice was the best we've had in Morocco.
