Truly worth every penny, yes the walk to the property may not be as enjoyable to everyone if you are carrying a lot of luggage but don’t think twice if you can walk 100 to 150 mts. Absolutely loved the view and the cute old couple who are the host are very sweet

Getting to the property if you have lots of luggage is not easy. Our driver could not get down the access road but we found it a relatively short walk and only had one case plus our day sacks. There was no kettle facility but tea and coffee are provided at breakfast.

The view from the property is exceptional. We had a warm welcome and the owner wanted us to have an enjoyable stay. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. We loved the property and location being so near to the railway line for quick access to town and the various sites of interest.

No shoap, the location is a bit difficult to find, as others say the next day we found a shortcut over the railway. You walk on the rails and in under 10 minutes you can reach the city centre. Avoid if you have too many luggage.

The shower is difficult to regulate, its or super hot or super cold.But we were fine with an cold shower.

This honestly is really a beauty. Hosted by an older couple. You have a comfortable bed, a perfect view on the mountains and a nice breakfast.

A fantastic stay in Ella - thank you so much! Neon Sky Nest is set in a beautiful location overlooking magnificent views - we loved relaxing on our balcony and looking out across the mountains. Great location (5-10 minute walk to town along the railway tracks) and very easy to access hikes to Ella Rock, Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. Our host family were so welcoming and provided a delicious and huge Sri Lankan breakfast every morning. The room itself was great, very spacious and clean with hot and cold water for showers depending on outside temperatures. Would definitely recommend to friends and family, fantastic value for money too!

The road to reach the property isn’t the best—it’s a bit tricky by car. We ended up parking a little further down and walking the last few minutes on foot. While the access isn’t the most convenient, the stunning view and the incredible location more than make up for it.

Neon Sky Nest was by far the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The room was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and had all the comforts we needed. The bathroom was also large and very clean. We especially loved the generous breakfast served on the terrace right in front of our room—it was a perfect start to the day. At night, the area was peaceful and quiet, with only the sound of a waterfall coming from the mountain in front of us. A truly spectacular experience in an unforgettable setting. We only wish we could have stayed much longer—it was hard to leave such a beautiful place!

If other guests in the other room are loud, you can hear it. Dogs barking, but that’s everywhere in sri lanka. Location is great for the views! If you come by car you might have to stop on the main road and walk down and up. On foot, there’s a convenient set of steps that takes you to the rails and you can walk along them into the village

Simple and clean room with stunning views of the mountains and waterfall, nestled up a hill overlooking the village, close to the railway. The hosts are an old couple, you will be contacted by someone who speaks english on whatsapp and you can always message them with anything you need (we only needed wifi password). Very flexible with check-in times. Nice breakfast is included!

I had such an amazing sleep in Neon Sky Nest. In the morning, you'd only get gently woken up by the sound of the waterfall and the birds. You'd then be served the generous and delicious breakfast served by the lovely host on your terrace in front of the view... And I mean what a view!!! If you use the train tracks as the locals do, everything is really close by - from town, from Ella Rock or from great restaurants.

As others have noted you need a 4WD car or off road motorcycle to get up the driveway so better if you are taking public transit and taxis.

It's 10x better than it looks in the pictures. Amazing view out over the waterfall. You can hear the waterfall. Bed is also really comfortable. This is one of the nicest places I've stayed in Sri Lanka. The old couple who run it are really cute and the breakfast is a multi course feast! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was not far to walk to the train station, centre of town and there is a yoga place nearby also.

It's still okay, but You Just can't get with the car exactly to the stay. You Will probably need additional 50-200m by walk, depending on the kind of your transport to the stay. ✌🏽

Getting to the property with luggage can be tricky, some driver’s wouldn’t be able to drive on the narrow and steep road. But it is doable.
