Elisa was a wonderful host. We felt very much at home, and it was lovely to chat with her. She welcomed us warmly, and our stay was extremely pleasant. Highly recommended.

I’d love to magic a lift, as 38 steps are difficult for (old) me. However, Elisa organised someone to carry my luggage up and down, so all was well.

Elisa is the most marvellous host. She made my stay easy and comfortable, and she speaks Italian, French, and English. Breakfasts were great and I enjoyed Elisa’s company then. The room (I had 1934) is lovely, all the more so knowing this was the host’s mother’s apartment. Comfy bed, kettle. I adored the shower - honestly, this is the first genuine non-slip floor (resin, apparently) I’ve used in all my life. It’s great having a balcony to watch the street action. Luckily, double glazing blocks the weekend noise of hoons at night. The location is the best available, I think- next to St Peter’s, opposite tourist info and the original chocolate shop which put Modica on the map.

Newly renovated rooms in original style. In the heart of Modica, close to restaurants and sights. Wonderful terrace with a view. Nice balcony. Great breakfast and service.

The noise mainly - see above.

The bed was firm and comfortable. The room was clean but is very small and relatively overpriced for what it is. Breakfast was average but the coffee was good. The air-conditioning worked well and provided some background white noise to counter the doof music below. The noise on Saturday night directly underneath was very loud with the bass thumping for hours past midnight. Fortunately I had some good earplugs so I got some sleep. Sunday night the noise was a little better but still intrusive. It's a shame for the owner, who is not at fault, that a late night venue can ruin the experience for everyone around, including residents, and the local authorities are either powerless or choose to do nothing. There are a number of stairs that were not a problem for me, but might be for some guests.
