My room and its bathroom were huge. The pub has its own car park. Blue Anchor is very quiet at night and local eating options are limited. The breakfast is served in a hamper -- a nice touch. It included tasty pastries, bread, cheese and ham and fruit juice. The room had an Espresso coffee machine, which I appreciated. There's a good range of ciders available in the bar.

Fan and aircon didn't work at all and it was very sunny during our stay. Windows were small so it got a bit hot unless we had door open. Not ideal. We could only get TV to work on random Netflix channels. Not a big problem for us but maybe for a family.

Good sized room. Private seating area above beer garden which caught the sun and some breeze. Food was good. Especially pizza and creme brulee. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast hamper was a different touch but the food was good and enough of it.

Everything was great.

The breakfasts were a very pleasant surprise. We looked forward to them being delivered to our door each morning. Attention to detail and quality produce made the hampers very special.

The garden and the building on the outside are looking very tired and could definitely do with a freshen up, but overall, a really lovely stay!

A great stay & location, right opposite the beach! The inn is very cosy with a good sized beer garden and great food with a wide range of choice. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed one night here and our room was fabulous! We stayed in The Captains room which was huge and had a bathroom with separate bath/ shower. Lots of quirky little touches in the room. It has its own separate entrance with raised terrace & amazing views of the countyside. Especially loved the breakfast hamper, a really lovely idea with lots of tasty treats inside!

No table to eat at in room (Captains Suite) No welcome details /property info/ or local activities brochures Staff not very welcoming Outside area very sad looking and not well maintained The noise from upstairs was sometimes too much i.e. Children running about , arguing etc. Soundproofing the private quarters needed

Breakfast is CONTINTENTAL, for me very well presented and fresh, not to my partners taste. Location superb, room excellent and spacious

Sign of the times good pubs having to close early due to low trade in low season, but menus show plenty of variety and good value… worth a return visit

the bed was very low so nice and comfortable but us oldies found getting in and out a bit challenging. Also sorting out T.V as now more streaming channels

we had a lovely breakfast hamper delivered each morning to our room, room very spacious and clean and comfortable although bed was very low.(see below). nice location and just a short walk to the beach. very quiet location but did hear the music from the pub below.

Bed not comfortable, lots of noise from the room above. Someone running back and for above us, plus barking dog. Breakfast was nice but I didn't realise there was no cooked breakfast.

The noise! It is a pub, so was to be expected, but the room we were in, felt like we were sat next to the people who were in the pub, and the noise did not stop until 12.30am. We expected it until 11pm.

The room was incredible! So big and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was lovely, right on the seafront. Parking was ample, and was able to check in when we asked too.

The property is a little tired and in need of some repair (windows in particular) Instructions for items like the television, heating and air conditioning would be helpful.

The middle room attach to the bedroom has no door / curtain . The lights are on a timer and take a good 15 minutes to turn off. And when hhey do then you have a green exit light lighting up the room instead. So we had a bad nights sleep. Such as shame as everything else was fine. The place is looking a bit tired in places but I am sure some TLC is in scheduled in soon.

Nice quirky pub , lovely food , best choice of puddings we have seen for s long time . Excellent dessert. Lovely breakfast hamper supplied in the morning.
