Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

IrelandDo not stay here! The address was not in the location in the description. Was given the wrong code to get into the apartment. The room smelt like cigarettes. The lightning was very dim. There was no water in the toilet - had to use the kettle to fill it and had to lift the lid to flush it. The tap handle fell off everytime I lifted it. There were hairs in the sink. The pillows were stained, hairs on the bed and stains on the blinds as well. The television didn't work also. The sofa was not comfortable, I sank when I sat down on it. I stayed one night out of the three I booked.

RomaniaI was received in an apartment that was not clean, although check-in is at 1:00 p.m., but when I arrived at the apartment it was not clean. the Wi-Fi internet does not work. I notified the property but he did not answer my phone. During the 3 days I stayed in the apartment, no one bothered to fix the problem. the toilet water does not work. I had to carry the water with the bucket from the shower to throw it in the toilet. I do not recommend this property. no one helps you

AustriaUpon arrival, I followed the check-in instructions but unfortunately, the flat number was not provided. I tried contacting the host three times, but they did not answer and did not return my call. Thankfully, some kind neighbors were able to assist me in identifying the correct flat. However, I was disappointed to find that the apartment had an unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, the bed sheets and sofa were in a terrible condition - they were extremely dirty and had holes in them. The pictures on Booking.com were either outdated or not representative of the actual apartment. We were given only two towels, which appeared to have been used before and not washed. The kitchen was also lacking in equipment, making it difficult to prepare meals. Moreover, the toilet flush was very slow and barely functional. Additionally, the toilet paper provided had fallen into dirty water and left to dry again. In summary, our stay was a complete disaster.

GermanyThe property had nothing from the announce. The owner has a horrible attitude and no accountability for his horrible service. I lost almost 200 euros. don’t book this place!

I don’t recommend this place, the pictures is not the real accommodation, they didn’t offer internet as announced, there was m a wet towel hung at the toillette as to be used, the owner is not helpful and don’t make u feel respected or safe. I stayed there a couple of hours, contacted the owner asking the internet password and got an ironic answer and a promise to repair the problem late on the same day or on the other day. As I needed internet to finish my master project, which should be delivered on the same day, the solution was not suitable to me, and as I was not feeling safe with this communication I asked for the refund and didn’t stay at the place. I booked the place as a solution for my accommodation need and just had problems. the owner didn’t offer any support or comprehension and it is not fair at all that I should pay for this horrible service. booking.com didn’t offered any resolution for this conflict. Don’t book this place. you will lose money!
