How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A small minus for the kitchen equipment – both available pans had scratched surfaces and would deserve replacement. The only thing that surprised us was a note requesting payment of the city tax in cash (€2.5 per person), although Booking.com stated that the price already included all taxes and fees.
The apartment in Graz exceeded our expectations. We spent one night here with my wife and our little daughter on our way back from Croatia to the Czech Republic. The apartment was spacious, clean, modern, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The self-check-in worked perfectly, and the communication and information service were excellent. Very good value for money. Parking on Sunday was easy and free directly in front of the house; alternatively, there is a large parking lot near the swimming pool available for €10/24h.

Unfortunately we could not connect to the internet as the password was handwritten and not all letters were understandable. also on the penultimate day of our stay the fire system started beeping, it beeped with small periods and was quite annoying.
Soft bed, quiet location and has everything to stay.

Too many steps before check-in. After you pay and secure booking: - In a few days, you will have a request to pay 100eur deposit online - On another day - one more request to confirm this payment online - The deposit is returned in a few days after check-out, but there is no immediate feedback from the host whether apartment passed the check or not, so it is unneeded worry
The apartment is great: clean, lots of space, modern look, terrace, comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the location. Pretty calm area, supermarkets, Eggenberg, trams and the train station nearby. Suitable for longer stay. There are free parking options within 10min walk, but in reality I did not find a good free space and ended up parking in 4 meters from the entrance, which was very convenient. It is green parking zone. 11eur/day, 1euro/30min, free from 20:00. Payment machine is nearby. Check-in very smooth. No keys. Access by the code. Clear and detailed instructions from the host.

New apartments and new furniture and the price is decent. Everything was available near the property (shops, cafes, fast food, etc.) and close to sports facilities.

Cleanliness could be better.
Very easy to find. Parking is on the street. Because we were on Saturday only one night, easy to find and free on weekends. Comfy beds, could be more clean. A little bit dirty walls. The price was a little bit high for a night stay.

Communication was non-existent. None of my messages were answered. There was also a strange situation with the deposit: the listing mentioned a €100 deposit, but then I received a private message with a link asking for €200. I didn’t pay anything and still checked in without a problem. The TV didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi was down. Overall, very mixed feelings.
Great two-room apartment, perfect for a short stay.

The internet provided in the apartment wasn't working too well. The neighbourhood seemed a little sketchy, but nothing ever happened to us!
The room was unbelievably big. It provided us with everything and more than we could ever need. Parking was possible closely to the apartment.

Wifi psw was not left at property. Had to ask. Confusion about city tax. Included in the price, but message at property suggested otherwise.
