- From US$101.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 3,597 reviewsMy husband and I had a last minute decision to stay overnight anywhere between Portsmouth and Southampton on a weekend. Since it was half term, most hotels were either already fully booked or have ridiculous prices. Found this one at a reasonable price considering our situation, and was pleasantly surprised to see that pur room was large enough to have 2 sofas (one was a sofa bed) plus a double sized bed. The breakfast was great and I love the card they put in rhe room showing which times get busy in the dining hall. So we knew what time to get up for breakfast to ensure we get seats.Guest review byAlvin NoelPhilippines
- From US$197.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 3,384 reviewsEverything was amazing. The location is breathtaking, the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, thank you Ellie-Jay for your support with changing our room as we wanted a creek view room. The breakfast was more than sufficient and very tasty and fresh. The dinner was delicious, with plenty of choices on the menu and excellent quality of food and services provided. The Spa was clean and suits all the needs. The pool was clean as well as the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Spacious room and bathroom, very well-lit and clean. We will definitely come back again.Guest review byGabrielaRomania

Winchester’s history, the Cathedral has to be right up there, it was incredible and would definitely go back, there were some beautiful walks nearby, along the river Itchen, and very clean. It’s very easy getting around, the train station is minutes away( 7 minutes to the airport 😉) So many pkaces to eat, The Vine did an amazing veggie breakfast and loved the Royal Oak pub, oldest in England.Guest review bySoniaJersey - 8.0

Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose.
Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose. Noise heard from neighbouring rooms and bed stuck against wall! Whole hotel is very dated and a bit too business/conference based rather than comfy/cosy country hotel which it should be. Staff very friendly though and breakfast was enjoyable.Guest review byKevinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There are loads of cafés and places to eat. The White Rabbit is a nice pub with an extensive menu and reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly. There are some lovely walks on the doorstep and some lovely places to visit if you want to travel a bit further. Lymington is a short drive away and is a lovely town.Guest review byKings - 10.0

The Saturday market is worth a visit and there are lots of places to stop for coffee, breakfast and lunch. Walk down the cobbled street to the harbour and enjoy watching the boats. There are also quite a few independent shops. Just along the coast there is a nice walk along Hurst Spit to the fort or you can get the ferry. Lots of walks around nearby Brockenhurst too.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved my stay at the Alton House Hotel, as I have never been to Alton before the staff were polite friendly and extremely helpful, I also made two new friends whilst I was there which is truly fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to any one that asked as in my eye's there is no better place or people.Guest review byRobb - 8.0

The town is very quiet and even on a Saturday seems to be dying on it's feet but there are numerous pubs and several reasonably priced restaurants (we were very happy with Frango's and The Golden Dragon. The Andover Tap is worth a call for real ale drinkers. on the positive side, there were no gangs roaming the streets and we felt very safe, Also, their British Legion(open to visitors) has music on a Saturday night and has been very well refurbished. The staff , members we met and the Secretary Sarah were very welcoming. We'd say that Andover is better used as a good base for travelling round the area.Guest review byGregUnited Kingdom - 6.0

local Gulshan Indian to be given a wide berth overpriced and didn't understand English too well. The local pub the Oatsheaf served Doom bar and had a lovely back garden well shaded but still sunny with helpful staff ,though no sandwiches or small meals on offer at weekends crisps only or a very large garlic pizzetta!!, Town appears to have its usual smattering of local shops and amenities.Guest review byJulianUnited Kingdom
