- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 805 reviewsView from room was amazing. Loved the welcome pack that is provided in room, it has so much information in it about the town. A good range of options for breakfast. Zed was friendly, welcoming and just all round happy to chat to. Room was clean, tidy, well decorated, nice little coffee station in room, comfortable mattress. The town is so lovely, neat little shops everywhere and just a calm feeling about the place. Would’ve stayed longer if my plans allowed, really liked it there.Guest review byFelicityNew Zealand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 201 reviewsThis was a beautiful gem of a place the location was amazing to use as a base to explore what Yorkshire has to offer. The lodge was clean and beautifully decorated and had a comfortable homely feeling to it making it easy to instantly relax into the peace and quiet. The extra touches that I asked for for my partner's 40th birthday (banners, cake, mulled wine and a box of chocolates) were excellent quality and a lovely surprise for my partner walking in.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom

Spiral staircase to bedroom and lower kitchen. Everything you could need for a comfortable holiday stay. Wonderful to open doors onto decking area to have breakfast literally on the water (during high tide). Everything clean, bright and modern. For us, the best spot in Whitby, but we didn't want to tell you about it really!Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom

Great place for coastal walks and trying local beers.
Great place for coastal walks and trying local beers. Plenty of history regarding Captain Cook, and the Dracula legend. The beach looks like it would be great in summer, we visited off season so all we did was walk along it. It looks like there would be plenty of sightseeing trips by boat, and fishing trips, available in summer. There is a great variety of restaurants, pubs, and smaller hotels, which should cater for most tastes. The emphasis is on fish dishes, and local beers and gins. There's no need for a car around town, but it is hilly. Bring decent walking shoes!Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Robinhoods Bay is so lovely, we have been coming here for many years even though we live nearby and never tire of it, although it has become a lot more touristy, that said, it is like stepping back in time, lovely little quirky shops, some wonderful little ale bars and yummy food, staying over always feels more special as it comes to life filled with music, chatter and laughter..Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Danby village is a 5 min drive/40 min walk away and is easy to get around. There's a local pub serving food though we didn't go there as we generally self catered. Danby Botton with a good store, in the other direction, is also a 5 min drive/40 min walk away. Excellent walking country on the door step.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Staithes is a wonderful old fishing village, wonderful views of the coast and moors I would visit again Over our visit we ate in all 3 pubs, The Cod and Lobster served wonderful fresh fish the lobster was to die for We visited The Captain Cook at the top of the hill for Sunday lunch, the beef roast dinner, it was cooked to perfection and the choice of vegetables was second to none. The Royal George became our second home quite near to the cottage we were staying in. The mouth watering crab sandwich that is served with a small salad, crisps or chips, is mouth watering. Just what you need when you are drinking a local brewed beer.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nothing could have been improved. This is an amazing place and the owner is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she goes well above and beyond with absolutely top notch service. The room and lounge were breathtaking and the breakfast was absolutely amazing!! Can't praise this highly enough. Go there! You will want to stay for ever!!!Guest review byJudithUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Goathland is a really nice place to be, when all is quiet, early morning or evening time it is absolutely magical. The Inn on the moor and the Mallyan Spout hotel are lovely places to eat and drink unfortunately I can’t say the same about the Goathland hotel. If you like walking then Goathland is a great place to start.Guest review byColinUnited Kingdom
