we stayed at the Bella’s Sweet and it was beautiful. The decor in the room and through out the Manor House with so cosy and fresh. Our room was very clean and came with plenty of refreshments and included a kettle and coffee machine. Our bed was a large size and extremely comfortable and came with 2 different types of pillows (one flat, one high) for preference. We arrived at the Manor House around 8pm to check in at the restaurant, which although it was very busy we was checked in straight away. Staff was a nice friendly young team. Me and my partner wish we had a meal but I recommend to book as the restaurant seemed fully booked on the Saturday night. I spoke to another couple who stayed for dinner and they said it was lovely food. Breakfast had a lovely variety, with vegan break options available. I had the avocado, bacon and poach egg on toast, whilst my partner went for the full english breakfast, we both cleared our plates! Overall, this was definitely one of the few best hotels/inns I’ve stayed at and would definitely stay here again if we are visiting the area.

Staff are really accommodating and loved the touch of being shown to our room. We stayed in the “leather” room which was tastefully decorated. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was hot and had good pressure. Breakfast was amazing - definitely recommend the full English, the black pudding was delicious!

Chose this location solely on the basis of internet search - and it exceeded our expectations. Lovely old coaching inn in a quiet village. We were allocated one of the newly refurbished guest rooms - which surely equalled a 5-Star hotel! Excellent evening meals in relaxed pub setting - although we could have sat in the separate restaurant with its classy decor. Staff all very friendly and helpful - including the nice lady on reception who went to the trouble of typing out her suggested itinerary for our day of exploring some of the area! Would strongly recommend.

Booked for our daughter’s driving test. She passed! :-) Supermarket down the road as coeliac so no eating out! Went out for lots of driving and seeing the area, it is lovely! We noted that the roads were well kept and especially the drivers in the area were very respectful to learner drivers and made the trip enjoyable for all. Space Museum and the Pumping Station next door were a brilliant mix of fun and laughter even for our teenager. I personally enjoyed looking at the mixture of building architecture in the area.

We had dinner at pizzeria inferno, it was really the highlight. Service was great and had some seafood linguini that I am still thinking about, a week on. The town itself is as unremarkable as any town in the midlands. The current politics' events had it also covered in Union Jacks and St. George's Crosses. If that's your thing, you are in for a treat. No wonder Frodo and Sam preferred to walk for months into Mordor, to get out of the shire.

Pretty little market town. More upmarket than I was expecting with high-end fashion shops. Museum was interesting and there are lots of places to eat - from Spoons to Thai, Turkish and Tapas! We drove out several days to the Crick Boat Show, Rockingham Castle and some of the civil war battlefields.

My favorite place was Saint Mary's Church (Attention: only open from 12 to 2!!) with the monument of Wycliffe, the painings and its very special atmosphere. The exposition in HIGH POINT is very interesting too because of Wycliffe. I made a nice walk along the river Swift where Wycliffes bones have been burnt about 600 years ago. When you stay at Grey Hound Inn (with its great history) eating doesn't need te be a problem. They have everything for reasonable prices.

Picturesque, quiet and relaxing location for those who just need a pared-back and restful experience. This is a great place for lovely country drives, and accessible to other locations and cities if you need to get to them. The town is quiet and has amenities, shops, restaurants and whatever you may need during your stay. Friendly people make the experience much more pleasant and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway or a relaxing retreat.
