Nice town, excellent cafes and pubs.
Nice town, excellent cafes and pubs. Interesting tour bus, lots of nice drop of points to see, specially beachy head and seven sisters. Not too pricey either and the ticket lasts for 24 hours. I believe it was about £10, I am a senior. Nice sea front good public transport. Hastings Rye and Brighton all easy to get too and more.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hastings town and surrounding areas has everything - old and new town with excellent shops, food shops and bars in all areas. Plenty to do and arty things to see. Friendly locals always willing to stop for a chat, and a super helpful library when I enquired about a local church. Streets and pavements were kept clean with plenty of litter bins around. Sadly, as with all towns, Hastings seems to have its fair share of rough sleepers.Guest review bySymons - 10.0

Rye is relentlessly picturesque, adorable, and small enough to walk in its entirety. The shops are absolutely killer; you could spend all your time and money just shopping. And from what I could see, most of the shops were selling lovely goods - not just the usual slew of cheap souvenirs, but original art and handmade jewelry, to name but two. The atmosphere in Rye is nice... calm. Not hectic. I think there are still too many vehicles considering the town's narrow sidewalks and cobblestone roads.Guest review byTeresaCanada - 8.0
Remains of Norman castle on its motte with extensive views.
Remains of Norman castle on its motte with extensive views. Small museum shows short film about history of Lewes & there is an excellent model of it. Interesting town architecturally but rather a lot of traffic. Very hilly.Guest review byJerryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Spotlessly clean room. Easy to book in. A longish walk to our room and a lift was available to take us down to the right corridor. Staff helpful in both bar and restaurant. We dined in the restaurant Food excellent and not over priced. Happy atmosphere. Uckfield town was busy there is plenty to do and see in the areaGuest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Battle is a pretty little town and very compact.
Battle is a pretty little town and very compact. The Abbey and battle ground is good to see as it is a major part of this country's history. However, if you opt to walk around the battlefield make sure you make use of the free audio guide as this brings the history to life as opposed to just looking at a field. The Abbey/battlefield and town can be done in a day, but it is a good idea to have an overnight stay so that you can pace yourself and fully enjoy the place.Guest review byPantelisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I liked the spacious living room dining area and the en-suite which was a pleasant surprise. I would have liked to stay longer ( if I could afford it). We throughly enjoyed ourselves and will be recommended it to others.Guest review byCharmayne - 2.0
We were booked for one night in Bexlet.
We were booked for one night in Bexlet. The accommodation was awful. The bed linen, sheets, duvet and pillows were all damp and the heater did not work. The access was extremely difficult. The male contact by phone was not interested in our complaints. We decided it would be inadvisable to stay, as my husband had just recovered from pneumonia. We were lucky to manage to book in to another hotel which was excellent although it cost us £160 extra, We had stayed there before through Booking.com. For Bexlet I would give them zero out of ten and I still cannot believe that Booking, com could have actually checked out that accommodation. Dreadful.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A sweet little village shop full of fresh fruit and basics.
A sweet little village shop full of fresh fruit and basics. The village itself set in a beautiful part of the country, Eric Ravilious views everywhere. A range of pubs, some discreet luxury hotels now, some just relaxed medieval inns full of beams and cosy nooks. Independent, upmarket shops. Surrounded by walks and ancient churches, like St Michael's & All Angels at Berwick, which is unmatched for its calm simplicity and Bloomsbury artworkGuest review byGlynUnited Kingdom
