Perfectly situated next to Pont Valentré, it’s delightful to breakfast outside, watching the river and listening to the birdsong, and the breakfast is excellent too- hot and cold buffet, with very good choice.     Where do I start! The house and its grounds are just beautiful and every inch has been thoughtfully decorated with the addition of carefully curated artwork, ornaments and lighting. Arrival was very smooth and we were shown around the villa and then to our room. We stayed in Le Vue which is right at the top of the house and so benefits from having 4 walls of magnificent windows. The room was light and airy and from the bed you could look out on to the bay and see the ebb and flow of the tide (I highly recommend spend the night with all the blinds up and the doors open to witness the sunrise and to listen to the waves and the hypnotising frog chorus) The hotel has an amazingly well equip kitchen that guests are welcome to use to cook their own food (or a chef can be provided on request) There is also an honesty policy so you can help your self to drinks and just tally what you have had. There is a comfy lounge area and my favourite a dark and cosy library with laddered shelf’s. The garden has a natural pool, sauna and sunbathing areas and a sweet little gate leads straight out on to the beach. I highly recommend heading to the beach and walking left to the old port where you will happen across the cutest fishing shack style restaurant which serves up amazing food. The lads there were super friendly and spoke great English. Nothing is too much trouble for Karin and her team and they really do encourage you to treat villa Tosca as a home from home. We will definitely be heading back.

    Amazing location Amazing restaurant. michelin star standard food, complete surprise. Amazing Spa, had very good massage and chilled in the pool, sauna and steam room Right nest to the Lake, views are so good, 3 minute walk to Culs Nuls beach next door to the mighty La Graviere, best peak on the beach in Hossegor, for a surfer and non surfer couple this hotel was epic.     Bordeaux is a beautiful city, full of mellow stone buildings and if you’re staying in the centre, all the sights are easily accessible on foot. If you’re staying further out, public transport is brilliant. Picked as a destination on the back of a Rick Stein long weekend and definitely not disappointed. Restaurant La Plana in Place de la Victoire is well worth a go with excellent food and lovely staff

    Toulouse cafe culture is wonderful. The architecture is also stunning. The old town streets and alleys are a joy to walk in, as is the Garonne riverside. We loved eating in the restaurants in Place Saint-George and the Place du Capitole. The basilica and the Couvent des Jacobins are stunning architecture and history. Everything in the old town is easy walking distance, mainly on the level. The train station is also walking distance for trips out of town, for example Carcassonne.

    Religious touristy to the max. But, honestly- isn’t that why you go there? Quaint French town, easily walkable. Many fine eating places: particularly recommend the Asian/Filipino Restaurant. Need taxi for airport/train.

    Bayonne is a lovely town in the middle of the French Basque area. The old town is totally walkable with lots of shops, bars, chocolate stores, sidewalk cafes, and great restaturants. One can just stroll around and decide which restaurant to enjoy.

    I was only there 1 night and until 3pm the following day. It's a really charming town with friendly local people, great food and drink options, history and culture and the stunning backdrop of the Pyrénées. I visited the Musee de Beaux Arts which was brilliant, Blend coffee and had a lovely evening with superb beers at Craft de Pyrénées.

    We loved the town, we enjoyed the variety of shops and restaurants. The beach was awesome. We visited Dune Pilat, climbed to the top and were astounded by the views. We would have liked to see much more of the area but our time was short. It was a taste that left us wanting to savour much much more, hopefully soon.
