- From US$104.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 845 reviewsThe location is good. Some of the sites and museums are within walking distance. Easy walking. It takes time walking from the train station to get to the location because out of season there isn't bus service, and taxis are hard to get. The employees and receptionist are helpful and kind. They agreed to look after my luggage untill the time of my train. It is a 5 - 10 minute walk from a supermarket and petrol station for those who need it. There is a good size rack to dry washed clothes. They have washing machines on the premises to use with payment by credit cards.Guest review byJudith CelinaFrance
- From US$202.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 59 reviewsThis was a lovely place to stay for our family of 12. The pool was a bonus for our mid teen kids and there was plenty of space for all of us over 2 cottages. It was about a 8-10 minute drive to the old part of Sarlat and was a great base to explore the other attractions of the area. This is such a beautiful part of France. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a fabulous few days away. Would definitely recommend.Guest review byMelindaAustralia
- From US$216.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 187 reviewsEverything about Chateau des Vigiers was perfect. All the staff we encountered were extremely professional and helpful. It's a beautiful place with comfortable good sized room. Eating in Les Fresques was an incredible exclusive. But the Bistro also served really good food with staff in both radians restaurants going out of their way to look after you. Will definitely try to return!Guest review byNathanielAustralia

Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city.
Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city. The city is divided by a straight road with many shops. It is good to explore both sides. One has all the main buildings the other side has a maze of charming streets. at night the town is gaslit - very atmospheric! The market is exceptional.Guest review byclareUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bergerac is a beautiful town in the Dordogne, we loved walking around the historic area, it feels very safe and is hilly enough to add to the character but not too hilly to spend the whole day walking around. The Port on the Dordogne River is nice, we did the boat ride, you don't see much as far as houses or buildings but there was plenty of wildlife to see, Osprey, Egrets and they even found a Kingfisher for us so see. One entire day there or 2 short days is enough. We filled the other 2 days with excursions to Chateaux.Guest review bySo many placesFrance - 10.0

We loved the narrow streets, with bars and bistros everywhere. The cathedral is a very striking building, and can be seen from long distances. We enjoyed the markets, and the general atmosphere of the town. We felt safe walking round.Guest review byRosemary - 6.0

Boulazac has commercial trading estates which are useful for accessing supermarkets and petrol stations but not for tourists unless the accommodation is found on the outskirts where there are quiet and tranquil residential areas and semi-rural locations to be enjoyed. It is, however, very close to Perigueux with its tourist attractions and gastronomic cuisine. It is also well placed for visiting the Dordogne and all of its attractions by car.Guest review byLeslieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
You need a car, but parking isn‘t easy.
You need a car, but parking isn‘t easy. Unfortunately, I wasn‘t prepared, so I had to scout things out. Because my days were filled, I often left too early or came back too late to enjoy all the opportunities available.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
One of the prettiest places I have visited.
One of the prettiest places I have visited. It looks like it came out of a fairytale. It was wonderful to walk around the village because everything look so pretty. It’s perfect for slow traveling. The products there didn’t seem overpriced, so we bought a lot of nice souvenirs.Guest review byBellaPhilippines - 10.0

This touristy village is a great base for a holiday in the Dordogne area of France. It's the world centre of prehistory, complete with the excellent National Museum of Prehistory and loads of caves and rock shelters nearby. The incredible cave paintings at Lascaux and the medieval town of Sarlat (amazing market on Saturday mornings) are a short drive away. There are loads of great restaurants in the village, and also a weekly evening food market on Fridays in the summer, with fabulous food stalls (top-quality take away dinner!). We didn't have a car during our holiday - we travelled there and back to Les Eyzies by train, and made full use of the local bus services 337 and 339 which run a very cheap summer service for tourists to Sarlat and Lascaux. Canoeing on the River Vezere is a must - we used Canoe 24, a 5-minute walk from our hotel.Guest review byDianaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Toured the Imaginary Garden. Well done! Ate at Le Bonheur opposite the church. Excellent food. Sympatique owners. The Bananas Cafe across from the bridge is another good restaurant. Had lunch there.Guest review byAnneUnited States - 10.0
Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout.
Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout. Nice restaurants and small shops. Has two small supermarkets for provisions a butcher and veg shop wine and local delicacies. Market Thursday. Lovely local people. Would recommend privilege restaurant to eat offering local food to a high standard in a typically French setting. Nice walks from village for those who like walking or running. Good base for seeing the dordogne area by car. Historic market square nice to have a drink in in season. You can buy a map at the Monparzier tourist centre in the square showing walks which are marked by coloured markers. Two bakeries for daily croissants bread and lovely cakes and sandwiches. Local filling station just out of top end of villages on Road to Bergerac.Guest review byAndrea SmithUnited Kingdom
