Bejar was ok as a jumping off point.
Bejar was ok as a jumping off point. If we were to come back to the area we would probably stay in Candolario,. a small town that is more picturesque and only 13 minutes away. The visit to the Plaza del Toro was definitely worth the time as was walking the wall of Bejar.Guest review byMad JohnUnited States - 10.0

We were travelling from the Algarve to Santander to catch the ferry to UK. This was a perfect place to stopover as it was about 2/3rds of the journey. We set off mid morning, arriving around 1900, in time to relax with a drink on the lovely terrace before dinner in the dungeons (excellent meal - best to book your table online with the castle directly). After a leisurely breakfast, it was an easy 3.5 hour drive to Santander to catch the afternoon ferry.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A hidden gem in the Salamanca province.
A hidden gem in the Salamanca province. One of the most beautiful villages we have ever seen in Spain. So spotlessly clean, so nicely-kept and we particularly liked that it was not full of souvenir shops.Guest review byACFamilySpain - 10.0
Salamanca is a beautiful place.
Salamanca is a beautiful place. There are many historic buildings worth a visit but the town still feels authentic. A weekend stay is ideal - we saw so many family events in the Plaza Mayor and in the churches that delighted us. The university building and the art nouveau museum were highlights for us. A walk by the river and a rest in the park by the city walls are a must. We loved Vinodiario for dinner and Palacio de Castellanos for terrace drinks and lunchGuest review bymichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The Medieval Fair was on the weekend we were there with free events and people dressed in costume roaming around the streets which made it very special. The streets were decorated with flags and the mood was warm despite the downpour on the Sunday, It was perfect to view the buildings, walls, bridge and castle during this time and to get a glimpse into life back then in this environment. The road that google told us to go down was closed because of the festival but a friendly local got out of his car to talk to us - in Spanish - we couldn't understand much but enough to know to follow him on an alternate route and it took us to the apartment. True Spanish hospitality from a complete stranger.....Guest review byCollinBAustralia - 10.0

It's a perfect location for exploring Salamanca without paying for city centre hotels. Rejio has everything we needed, especially secure parking. The hotel is on a main road, don't worry about traffic noise, so is well-served by local buses. You can also take a stroll along the main road to visit some great bars, cafes & restaurants. Supermarkets are also within comfortable walking distance. Taxi into Salamanca is approx 11 euros, that's a single journey. The hotel tram will call a taxi when you're ready, no need to book ahead. Hotel team always give great customer service & the hotel bar isn't ridiculously overpriced. We love this hotel.Guest review byNicolaUnited Kingdom
