The only words that can describe the lingering feeling as I think back to those mornings are 'bliss', 'surreal' and 'dreamy'. The beautiful ocean-view room had stylish wooden and white decor, comfy beds, and a large, well-kept bathroom. Perfect location and scenery, every morning it felt like I was waking up from a restful sleep on a different planet or in a different century and the friendliness of each of the very welcoming members of staff and locals meant that my other-worldly experience continued throughout the day. Utterly quaint. With the opportunity of scuba-diving and kayaking literally a stone's throw away, about 50 metres from where the sea touches the warm pebbly shore, my stresses felt untangled and loose and all my problems seemed solvable. She was also helpful with enquiries during my stay. Easy key drop early in the morning I left. The room was kept spotless during my stay - excellent and attentive cleaning staff. The apartments are just across from the beach, within easy walking distance of the town and restaurants. There are bus stops just outside the apartments for the circular bus route into town and easy street parking if you have a car. The restaurant downstairs can be/should not be overlooked - such friendly staff and surprisingly excellent meals. There is also a very good buffet breakfast - not advertised and somewhat hidden away. Almunecar is fantastic, we come here every year at least once and have been doing so for over 20yrs, the people are great, the town is so quiet and nice and we love the tapas, el petete is our favourite for tapas. The town is on the coast and beaches are plentiful and not crowded during the times we go (sept). all of the bars serve tapas with drinks and it's a lottery on what you get which adds to the magic and mystery of the town. Getting to the town from malaga means a car hire but parking is plentiful and free. we hired a car, got to the town parked and never used the car again other than getting back to the airport. a transfer bus might be a better idea if there are any. all in all, I will continue to come to Almunecar for as long as im able to; we love it!Guest review byGEORGEUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Motril have everything near by. 1hr to Malaga, 1h30 of Torremolinos, 40 min of Sierra Nevada... In 10 to 15 min you're in a another village with seafront with restaurants and bars.. This city still offer a "tapa" when you ask for a drink...It's amazing... I saw a council worker sweeping the street at 10pm... I walked safety at any hour. It's a very relaxing town, you can drive up to the Alpujarra to visit the white towns, its got abundance of Spanish ham. You can go trekking and they have plenty of water. The Thermal baths are very nice.Guest review bySene - 10.0
A beautiful part of Spain.
A beautiful part of Spain. A great beach with a wide selection of restaurants, 'Bahia' helped us to host an special anniversary meal, the Il Treno ice-cream parlour right opposite the clean beach and the marvelous tapas bar nearby are worth a visit. The maintown, set back a way from the beachfront is the castle with it's incredible views, and the hillside houses in the steep narrow winding streets are amazing but exhausting to walk around. Fortunately there are several bars to stop for a drink on the way. The town has all the shops you might need and the beautiful town of Caleta is close enough to walk to: I would love to see the procession that is proudly displayed in the photographs throughout their town. We were delighted by the smiling local Spaniards who made us welcome and helped us wherever we went.
