I made a last-minute booking, but Marta welcomed me with a big smile. The room was very clean, spacious, and well-equipped, even in the details. The hostel is super close to the dock and located in the center, making it easy to access everywhere, such as the mercado, restaurants, cafes, and many stores. Andrea was also helpful and gave me some travel tips for Guatemala as she speaks English! I was very happy to find this hostel in San Juan and would stay again next time :)

I don't know if I liked the view from the bed more or the view at breakfast, I will definitely never forget these views. I don't think you can get tired of them. There are small shops nearby, the route from the harbor to the accommodation is also manageable on foot (approx. 10 minutes), otherwise tuk-tuks are available for transportation. Village itself doesn't offer you much, but you can walk in 45 minutes to the nearby San Marcos La Laguna, where more life is available. The accommodation is wonderful, we slept with the tent open the entire time. I also recommend the dinner cooked by the owner, it is excellent. There is also an additional bar next to the accommodation where you can eat and drink during the day.

Hotel Atitlan, located in front of Lake Atitlán, is a rustic-style property offering extensive gardens and panoramic views of Atitlan Lake. It has an outdoor pool, hot tub, and a botanical garden. It is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic view on the lake and the volcanoes. Quiet places give you the possibility to rest and the garden also allows you to walk, relax and enjoy flowers and birds around. The personnel are very kind and patient. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the view is very nice.
