The Golden Crown Hotel was by far the best hotel I stayed at during my entire trip through Sri Lanka including Colombo, the north, and other regions. The service, friendliness, and atmosphere were absolutely exceptional. Everything felt perfectly balanced professional yet genuinely warm. A few people made the experience truly unforgettable. Dananjaya was always helpful, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He really made my stay more enjoyable with his positive energy. Mlhirini had such a kind and welcoming presence. She constantly made sure I had everything I needed and was always up for a nice conversation. So caring and attentive. Roshan, the manager, is a truly kind person. Under his leadership, the service was simply outstanding. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. If you’re looking for real hospitality and excellent service, this is the place. I’ll definitely come back!

Nice clean and modern place in a very peaceful environment, far from the noise of the city, but also pretty close (aboit 15min on foot). The owner is very kind and helpful. There is a nice garden and a kitchen with drinking water and a kettle (tea and coffee available). Good wifi and spacious lockers.

Very big room, the amenities are just perfect. Quite location. Very attentive with their guests. The breakfast was delicious.

Very big room with balcony and almost 360 view just from the room! You can literally see both sunrise and sunset! And there is a rooftop with tables and chairs. And monkeys sometimes. Great shower! Hot water, good water pressure! Very big and comfortable bed! There are AC and fan! There is kitchen because the owner lives here as well. He is very kind and always seems happy. He would message me to let me know when the monkeys come to the house 😂 He also offered washing machine for me to use because I stayed them for 4 nights! Location is out of busy town center, but only 10 min by tuktuk within 300lkr. Or you can also walk 5 min down the street to catch the local bus for 30lkr. There is a good restaurant “the chef corner” just 2min walk and the food there is really good! Next to it there is a fruit store and a bakery. Very convenient. I also found an Ayurvedic doctor in the area and got a massage. If you are going to Sigiriya by car, you don’t need to go through town.

Amazing place - this may be the best place I stay in Sri Lanka. It is not in city center but is a short tuk tuk ride away. The room is lovely, the bed huge and comfortable (best night sleep!) and the grounds are lovely (great for catching up on travel / life admin in a great setting). The food they served was fantastic. All in all I really loved my stay here and it the value for the cost was phenomenal.

Our 3-day stay at this villa was truly unforgettable, mainly because of the amazing host, Aunty Thennakoon. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with love and said, “Stay like your home and walk anywhere.” And honestly, we felt exactly that just like home. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and treated us like her own children. She even let us use her personal kitchen to cook our meals. She prepared a delicious homemade breakfast, beautifully presented and served with love. The place itself is very beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy quiet moments. The atmosphere was calm and felt very safe. More than just a stay, this was a heartwarming experience. Aunty Thennakoon’s exceptional hospitality made it special. We had lovely conversations with her, just like with a close relative. And created memories we’ll never forget.
