Staff are nice and professional. Great arrangement and communication in advance. Private onsen is perfect for a family with kids and elderly. We stayed here for 2 nights with great variety of food.

We absolutely loved everything about this peaceful ryokan—the beautiful grounds, the delicious Kaiseki meals, the relaxing onsens (both private and public), the clean and comfortable room, and the incredibly kind staff. A standout feature was the private dining room assigned to each guest room, which added an extra touch of exclusivity and charm.

A wonderful ryokan in the heart of Kurokawa Onsen. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, from the moment of arrival to departure. Excellent dinner and breakfast options focusing on local produce. Very clean and comfortable facilities in a traditional setting.

Boasting an open-air bath, garden and views of mountain, Hanare no Yado Hanagokoro is set in Minamioguni, 40 km from Mount Aso. This place is a hidden treasure. Great tranquil place to escape crazy Japanese cities. We had wonderful time in Japan nature

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. Location. Stunning view and atmosphere. Sympathy from the staff. Kudos for Shujan for his kindness and informative interaction. Amazing food experience.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. We stayed in Shion room which was really special with a stove in the living room, a foot bath room and indoor bath. The outdoor public bath was really good too, and not crowded at all in the morning. The service provided by all the staff was very welcoming, making us feel relax and comfortable. Really enjoy the stay.

Great location, very nice setting and loved the different Onsen. The food was amazing and the staff very thoughtful and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

39 km from Mount Aso, Yamashinobu features a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in the Ota Onsen district of Minamioguni. All the food was exquisite and service exceptional. The staff greeted us from the moment we parked to take in our luggage. Our private onsen was lovely and the room itself huge-- almost comparable to our apartment!
