Lafcadio Hearni memoriaalmuuseum on 1,7 km kaugusel. Neljatärnihotell Onyado Nono Matsue Natural Hot Spring asub Matsues ning pakub spaa- ja tervisekeskust. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable, so I slept like a baby every single night. The room was also super nice with the tatami flooring. Very cosy. Actually the whole place feels cosy and helps relax. The free half ramen every evening was also a very nice touch. Also this hotel is very conveniently located: it's close to Matsue Castle, close to the Shimano Art Museum, close to locations where you can take beautiful pictures of the sun setting on lake Shinji, close to ferry terminals to go on lake Shinji, close to Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station from where you can take the local Ichibata trains to places like Izumo or Matsue Vogel Park.

Etajimasou Hotel & SPA Hiroshima asub Etajimas, 8,8 km kaugusel Mereajaloo muuseumist. Kohapeal on aed, tasuta eraparkla, terrass ja restoran. Our stay exceeded our expectations, which were already high based on photos and reviews of the hotel. The staff gave us a wonderful welcome and provided all useful information we could need (in English) and were so helpful in arranging transfers to and from the ferry port. The facility is gorgeous and it is clear that a lot of thought went into the details, from the amenities to the decor and also in the guest experience. The onsens were also beautifully done and very relaxing. The food was excellent and most of it locally sourced. The Japanese breakfast was exceptional and we also had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant one night. Lastly, the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a very lovely stay and would stay again!

The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa asub Tsuyamas, 200 meetri kaugusel Tsuyama imemuuseumist. Kohapeal on saun ja kuumaveeallikatega vann ning konditsioneeriga majutusruumid. By far the best hotel experience we had in our 1 month long trip to Japan. Hotel was easy to find with free parking and an excellent location with amazing service. Could have stayed here for a whole week with the castle views!

Hagi No Yado Tomoe asub JR Higashihagi raudteejaamast 8-minutilise jalutuskäigu kaugusel. Hotellis on uhke sajandivanune autentne Jaapani atmosfäär. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Higa. Service, cleanliness, peacefulness, comfort, food : 10/10. This place is a must and will return.

Located in the World Heritage Miyajima Island, Iwaso features Japanese-style accommodations with beautiful surrounding views. Beautiful property. We had the half board with multi course traditional Japanese meals. They were amazing but yes, pricey. We wore our traditional Japanese. The hubby used the Osen and said it was fabulous. I didn’t go as I stayed with our 10 year old daughter who didn’t feel comfortable doing it. The staff was helpful and courteous. We left our bags with them on the day of checkout and they brought us to the ferry around 14.30.

SOIL Nagatoyumoto asub Nagato Nagato-Yumoto Onseni piirkonnas, 37 km kaugusel Kuruson-zan Shuzen-ji templist, 41 km kaugusel Doigahama loodusmuuseumist ja Ejio pargist. At arrival we were offered a possibility to upgrade our room for a reasonable fee to a bigger one, the king suite, which we accepted. And I have to admit, it was the most beautiful hotel room we have ever stayed in. Spacious and decorated with a lot of taste, every lamp and every detail are perfectly matching this place and creating an amazing atmosphere. Lots of space, big windows with beautiful views to the river below. The room needs no TV, because with the river during the day and a distant thunderstorm at night, the nature gives already the best show. There is a sauna on the top floor, also very beautiful and with a great view. Moreover, the onsen next door accepts people with tattoos (how refreshing!) and the river and surroundings are perfect for a relaxing walk. We really hope to go back someday and enjoy this magical place again.

Located in Yurihama in the Tottori region, 鹿鳴館 provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. Very clean and comfortable hotel. There was a great view of the lake from the hotel room. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Bettei Fujiya on kuumaveeallikate ja tasuta privaatse parkimisega. Hiroshima rahumemoriaalpark ja aatompommi kuppel on 26 km kaugusel. Majutusasutuses on mullivann ja privaatne vabaõhuvann. The room was very clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and offered serene traditional atmosphere blended seamlessly with modern conforms. There was a terrace with a beautiful view adding on to the comfort of the room. The dinner was traditional Japanese-style and for sure it should not be missed! The multi-course kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and very delicious, including fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. The hotel's location is good for visiting the Itsukushima Torii (Water gate) as it is just one station away from it but at the same time away from the madness of the island.
