Combining pastels with bright hues as well as floral and striped decorative details, all accommodation types at the Mandraki Village offer a satellite TV and air conditioning. Each has a fridge and hairdryer. Skiathos is awesome, small, very lush, with plenty of excellent beaches, very friendly locals and impressive cuisine (sometimes unfortunately toned down a bit to meet the taste of the tourists; look for places a bit off the main throughfares). The only issue is that it gets very crowded and there are a lot of obnoxious and loud British, who seem to think that they own the place. Visiting the Monastery of Evangelistria is a must (the aforementioned British are excused from this). Local honey and wine are exquisite (for the latter, refer to the wine list in the restaurant). The hotel is very close to Koukounaries Beach (5 mins walk, downhill - uphill on the way back...), which is beautiful, but quite noisy and crowded, especially in the early afternoon, when the water taxis bring in hordes of tourists from the city. Banana Beach is supposed to be very nice, but has all but been taken over by the nearby luxury hotel, could not find a way there. Best bet is to rent a car and visit the genuinely awesome secluded beaches on the western/northern shore, accessible via a dirt road (watch out for people, who do have a quad, but not common sense). Note that there are only a few understocked and overpriced shops and small choice of restaurants in the area. For shopping groceries, rent a car and head to one of the Sklavenitis shops (biggest one is next to the airport). The hotel itself comprises of several small buildings scattered around in a beautifully kept garden, rooms are nice and spacious. The swimming pool is quite small, but there is no reason why anyone would spend any time there with all the awesome beaches around. The staff are very professional, helpful and kind. As regards breakfast: this is one of the rare cases when "excellent" is right on point.

This recently renovated aparthotel is located 1.2 km from Skiathos' Port and 1.2 km from Papadiamantis' House. The aparthotel has family rooms. I visit Greece often, but I rarely have such a wonderful experience as I did on Skiathos with our host George. We were three friends looking for accommodation close to both the sea and the town — and the location was just perfect! George was incredibly kind and always available. He helped us with everything — even took us to the store and made restaurant reservations for us. The house was modern, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we felt completely at home — or even better. I warmly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Skiathos! 🌸
