A wonderful market - a wide range of stalls including a wide variety of food stalls, we spent 4 hours there. Compared to my visit 20 years ago - it was more ‘artisan’ work to see then - and different to other places. Now far too packed with food stalls, & same type of stalls to be found in any large market anywhere. Hard to find the real artisans of Hobart & Tasmania. I am from NSW and brought my cousin on this 3 week trip. Salamanca was to be a must see, but would have been better spending the day travelling further down the coast. Hobart has some of the best restaurants in Australia because they use their fresh produce which Tasmania is famous for. Their bakeries are second to none, certainly Brisbane doesn't have bakeries like Daci & Daci or Jackman and Ross.
