This lodge is absolutely spectacular and very unique. Xavier, the owner, is phenomenal. Peter and I had great discussions with him. Lots of fun and laughter. He is an extremely interesting person. Superb food. Great surroundings. The "golden wildebeests" and the "kissing giraffe" on the property are very special. Noteworthy are the 1928 Bugatti and the Triumph motorcycle in the living room. There are vintage cars all over the property. I have never seen a more interesting place like the Hippomoon Lodge. As a world traveller I must admit that this is one of the most spectacular, interesting and fun place I have ever stayed at. Highly recommendable!!!!!! Thanks Xavier!

It is also located almost next to the Marloth Park gate so you can access Kruger Safari easily. Behind the property, you can easily do a walk to see some Urdus.

Pondoro is set on the banks of the Olifants River inside the 50 000 ha Balule Private Game Reserve inside the Greater Kruger National Park (Game drive traverse 30 000 acres). To the Pondoro staff and in particular our guide Dewald and tracker Andres, thank you for the unforgettable experience! Dewald and Andres were very knowledgeable about wildlife, and we got to see the big 5 - including a leopard poised on a tree with its kill - and many other animals up close over a 4 day tour. Back at the lodge, everything from food to room had a personal touch. The kitchen did amazing breakfast (avo toast and Pondoro breakfast were our favourites) and exceptional starters, and the rooms were cleaned 2-3 times a day with a personal pick me up note each time. Truly a stellar experience!

Tento 5hvězdičkový penzion s úžasným výhledem na údolí Mpumalanga Lowveld nabízí luxusní restauraci, bazén v zahradách a individuálně zařízená apartmá s krbem. Very beautiful location, away from the main road, in the middle of the plantation. The buildings are in an oasis of green, surrounded by the trees. We enjoyed sitting under the porch with a cocktail before moving to a delicious dinner. The private pool to our room was also very beautiful, sadly it was too cold to make use of it. We should come back in summer. ;)
