Ubytování Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails, obklopené soukromým tropickým pralesem o rozloze 348 hektarů, se nachází v přírodní rezervaci Arenal a nabízí jezero, bazén, sluneční terasu a místnost s... The views were fantastic, Arenal volcano is intimidating ( as it is very close to the resort) but mesmerising. The bird life is abundant and the Coatis walk around ignoring people just doing their own things (which is as it should be) The breakfast was fantastic. The road to the resort is a dirt road and could be rough. there are no lights at night ,hence be careful when venturing out at night.However if you have a good car and consider the road conditions it can be easily done with an SUV or a constant 4WD. I will recommend a big car but not necessarily 4x4. As the resort is very isolated the only place to have dinner is the restaurant which was expensive. However with a good car you can venture into the small local towns an have a multitude of choices.( alway ask the staff about eating choices you will get good information from them ).Hence that is one of the reasons I will recommend an SUV. As the resort is so vast you could stay there without going anywhere else and honestly say you know Cost Rica. The waterfall within the property was breathtaking, you get to it via a beautiful walk via the forest. There are 2 suspending bridges, lots of well marked walks and the births are. amazing.

The architecture was stunning — modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The space was well laid out, spotless, and clearly well maintained. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the host was great throughout the process. I’d definitely stay here again!

The owner was a very nice man who welcomed us in a special way on arrival. Thank you. The accomodations are 'tents' but very comfortable. Daily breakfast was very good. Generally, continental, but you are offered scrambled or fried eggs cooked to order. Pool area is very nice. Beautiful grounds.

Everything, truly magical property. The staff was very attentive and the service level very high. The small canines were beautiful on highest standard with private whirlpool. The kindness of the staff really stood out. Kevin gave the most amazing night tour to reach us about local animals.

Our stay was an exceptional experience. Roger and Rose were super kind and helpful giving ideas for places to visit, where to eat etc. One of the highlights was the breakfast, every day with fresh fruit juice and varied costarican food. Malekus is located in a stunning location surrounded by nature at its best. Definitively highly recommendable!!
