My name is Pamela Nayler, Swiss by origin from Zuerich - I bought Parker Cottage Guesthouse in March 2017 and keep on the excellent services at the guesthouse. We have since been renovating, painting up a storm to make it even better and lighter than before. I used to be a South African tour guide for 8 years and can help you with lots of tips and tricks for our beautiful country.

Parker Cottage is a little different to the usual hotel or guesthouse experience. Rather than just being a conventional place to sleep, we offer an urban retreat right in the heart of the oldest and most creative part of Cape Town. We are about four things: • Simplicity: no mini bars or piped music and television by request only. • Comfort: five star quality mattresses and linen in all rooms and superb gourmet breakfasts all included in the price. • Service: consistently nominated the best B&B in central Cape Town four years in a row • Society and Environment: an honest, open-hearted policy to the planet and our employees/suppliers.

Tamboerskloof, the village in the City Bowl that we are in, is called the 'ten minute suburb', because you're literally ten minutes away from everything, whether on foot or by taxi. On foot, you're next to vibey Gardens and the old town, as well as the historic Bo Kaap. By taxi, Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island ferry, the beaches of Camps Bay etc. are all less than ten minutes' drive.
