Based on local tax laws:
- Uruguayan citizens may be charged value added tax (VAT 10%) from November 15th to the day after Easter.
- From October 1st, 2025. A new tourist tax from the departmental government will go into effect, which must be paid by all non-resident guests over the age of 11 staying in Montevideo hotels. It costs USD 1 per person per night with a maximum limit of USD 5 and is paid separately from the room rate.
These fees are not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation.
