You won't find a better place to launch all your Smoky Mountain adventures from than the Mountain Forager Cabin! Take your pick of whitewater rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, mountain biking or hiking (just to name a few), all can be found within 10 minutes of the cabin. The cabin boasts a paved road and an easy in/out horseshoe driveway with parking for multiple cars and trailers, perfect for those hauling boats for Lake Fontana or motorcycles for the Tail of the Dragon.
Come back and recover from all your adventures with a soak in the hot tub, a sunset on the screened in porch or, depending on the season, either snuggle up by the fire inside this true log cabin or relax in the hammock hung up next to the babbling brook. If you're so inclined, a short stroll down the hill will get you to a seasonal tiki bar with live music on Friday nights (until 10pm) and a fabulous sunset view. For a full menu establishment, just cross the street to find Kallisto, one of our favorite places to eat.
The Mountain Forager Cabin is far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of town but with restaurants and fun hang out spots very nearby, including the famous Nantahala Outdoor Center with its riverside food/drinks, you won't find a better location for your Smoky Mountain adventure base camp!
I love sharing the "Quieter side of the Smokies" with people and providing a place for them to have adventures from and create memories in.
This cabin is in the Nantahala Gorge, where within 10 minutes you will find whitewater rafting, zip lining, kayaking, horse back riding, gem mining, canopy tours, mountain bike riding, hiking, fly fishing, Tail of the Dragon, fishing and boat rentals on Lake Fontana, Bryson City and the Smoky Mountain Railroad (The Polar Express). Harrah's Casino and Cherokee are just 20 minutes away. After a full day of area activities relax on the large front screened porch with a beautiful sunset and a mountain view in the winter or the back deck with gas grill, fire pit, hot tub and a woodsy view.
