We are Everell and Cheryl Thayer and we have been married for 30 years. We are from Michigan and Illinois and have been living in Hawaii for the past four years. We moved over from Oahu and are loving the simple life that the Big Island offers. Vintage and charming 1922 remodeled home right on the ocean and Hilo Bay. This is one of the best places to stay while visiting the Big Island of Hawaii. Oceanfront rooms are only a few feet from the ocean and you can listen to the waves while you relax and sleep. Breakfast area also has some tables that have an excellent view of Hilo Bay. Within walking distance to downtown Hilo for all your shopping and dining needs. You can see all types of boats and sometimes turtles right our your room window. Relax and listen to the ocean waves and have a excellent breakfast in the morning. Great home base while exploring the east side of the Big Island and Volcanoes National Park. Nice oceanfront neighborhood with only a few homes and condos along this strip of ocean fronting Hilo Bay. Within walking distance to downtown Hilo. Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, Liliuokalani Park and Gardens, Beach Parks, Coconut Island, Pacific Tsunami Museum, Hilo Tropical Gardens, Panaewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens, Lyman Museum are all nearby with many more activities and things to do and see only a short drive away.
