Sharp Island Gorilla Lodge, Lake Bunyonyi is a recently renovated holiday home in Kashasha, where guests can make the most of its private beach area and open-air bath. Welcome to Sharp Island Lodge, your private retreat on the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi. Our property features four beautifully crafted bungalows inspired by local architecture — two double rooms and one single room, all of which can be expanded with an extra bed to accommodate up to eight guests in total. Each bungalow provides serene lake views, a spacious en-suite bathroom, and a private terrace where you can relax and take in the natural surroundings. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning, freshly prepared from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Our kitchen celebrates authentic Ugandan cuisine, blending traditional flavors with fresh produce from the region. The lodge’s calm and welcoming atmosphere, paired with warm, personalized hospitality, ensures your stay is comfortable, cultural, and unforgettable.
Sharp Island is surrounded by the incredible natural beauty and cultural richness of southwestern Uganda. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities — from volcano hikes, national park excursions, and safaris, to gorilla and golden monkey trekking. Cultural explorers can meet the Batwa people, one of the region’s oldest indigenous communities, and learn about their unique heritage and way of life. Nature lovers will be delighted by the vivid birdlife that fills the skies — with colorful species visible across the island both day and night. The surrounding Lake Bunyonyi is bilharzia- and crocodile-free, making it safe for swimming, though it is deep in parts. Guests can also rent boats or canoes to explore the island’s hidden coves, go fishing, or enjoy a romantic sunset cruise.
