After some 20 years living in Thailand my appreciation of Thai culture and Thai people has deepened. Ao Yon is a small village in the quiet south east corner of Phuket Island. Away from the masses and though small the village offers everything you need at walking distance for a relaxed stay. Many restaurants on the beach and on the main road, 2 convenience stores, car and motor bike rental, money changers, massage places, ATM's, fruit stalls, excursion booking offices and way more. On the beach there are various places to just contemplate life and lounge during spectacular sun sets. Or just go swimming in the lukewarm water off the white sandy beach. Being a small village almost all destinations in Ao Yon Beach are in walking distance. For going beyond the immediate vicinity you can either rent car or motor bike or get a taxi. Longtail boats can be hired and can pick you up at the beach right in front of the property.
