Here you can hike in the protected deciduous forest of Niklasdal, watch birds or drive to the sandy beach of Stora Björnrukan to relax in the sand and splash around in the mighty Vänern. We also recommend exploring the mainland. Take a day trip to the Viking town of Karlstad with its rich historical heritage and stroll through the old town "Gamla Stan". The town of Kristinehamn is also worth a visit. Both cities offer many attractions, good shopping, entertainment and restaurants. The whole family can look forward to Vildapark. The park offers a skate park, a downhill bike course, an obstacle course, fitness trails and a barbecue area. Note: Access to Arnön is regulated by a barrier, which is open between 07:00 and 23:00.
