Company information

We took over Flat Hills over 9 years ago and have continued to try and improve on its already great foundations....adding a childrens play area with bouncy castle, new furniture, the campground and Pod Cabins and much more. Between us we are lucky enough to cover all bases-myself and Henry looking after the cafe, Karen looks after the grounds and camp area and Kev is our builder and maintenance man-we also have our two girls Ella and Isobel who are in training to take over!!!

Property information

Flat Hills is a family run cafe and campground with beautifully crafted Pod cabins situated on State Highway 1. The campground is an addition to an already popular cafe and the Pod cabins bring a kind of quaint hobbit like vibe to the area. Set in the amazing Rangitikei Valley we are surrounded by our friendly farm animals, kids play area with bouncy castle and even a maze...

Neighbourhood information

The beautiful Rangitikei river which is great for fishing, kayaking and paddling is only minutes away. There are some great walks and cylcle trails and the golf chub is only 5 minutes down the road. The amazing Whitecliff Boulders are also only a few minutes away, then of course there is Gumboot throwing in the Gumboot capital of New Zealand-Taihape just 20 mins north of us. Ohakune and the ski fields are just over an hour away making it a great place to stay with plenty for all to do...
