You’ll find at The House of Hazel you’re oh so central to everything you will need while you’re in Matamata. Located in a residential neighbourhood, circa 1km to Matamata town centre where you will find bars, restaurants and shops as well as the i-site bus stop to Hobbiton Movie Set & Tours. We are around the corner from Matamata Racecourse and are on the way to Hobbiton Movie Set & Tours. Matamata truly is very centrally positioned, putting all tourist attractions in the region within reach. Walking routes and hiking trails are plentiful as well as new cycle ways and after a day of exercise there are many different natural hot springs to enjoy. Matamata is a very walkable place if you are so inclined, otherwise it is easy to drive around in. There are also taxi’s operating most of the day, everyday. HOH is 1km to Matamata town centre, 9km to Hobbiton Movie Set & Tours. There are buses that stop through Matamata to head to other towns and cities in NZ.
