The traditional Newari house was built a few years after the devastating earthquake in 1934 A.D. Special attention was given to the architecture of the house. With strong and unique wooden framework the house restrained the major earthquakes in April and May 2015. It has been certified safe by NEA (Nepal Engineering Association) and has been renovated. The flexible wooden structures not only give Hiranya Guest House a strong skeleton but also shows authentic Newari aesthetics.

Patan is a renowned destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, which have prospered as an integral part of the rich culture and tradition of Newari people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu valley.
