This coastal area is said to be one of the most exclusive. You’ll feel like you’ve taken off to a faraway place without a care in the world! You’ll be surrounded by the tranquility that is hard to come by nowadays. Chixculub gets its name from the crater that was discovered buried beneath the Yucatan Penninsula in the 1970s. It was created by an asteroid thought to be 10 kilometers in diameter (6.2 miles). Due to the crater’s impact, many natural cenotes were formed, and it’s a must-see while in the area. You’ll want to take a dip in the fresh, cool water, and you’ll come out a whole new person! There is a public bus that passes about every hour if needed, and we recommend you venture out to one of the beautiful cenotes, relive the past at one of the Mayan ruins, and fill your belly to bliss at one of the regional restaurants.
