Gite des Acacias is located in Carreau Acacias, just 2 km away from Le Bouchon Beach. The bed and breakfast has an outdoor pool. The simple decorated rooms at Gite des Acacias are equipped with air conditioning, fan, a room safe, a TV and a bathroom with shower. The rooms have garden views. Our very small welcoming capacity of only 4 guest rooms, enables us to provide a privilege friendly relationship with our guests. We are located in the middle of sugar cane fields at about 1.5kms from the sea, but we believe that visiting Mauritius is not only about sightseeing and sea/beach activities. Our aim is to give guests the opportunity to discover a different face of our island : homely traditional cuisine - a blend of all the cultures that compose Mauritian society topped with our farm's product as far as possible, a privileged relationship as we open our house to our guests, share a seat at our table for breakfast and/or diner, and organize A la carte services upon request ( car rental, boat tours, advise/suggest tours etc.. ).
We are a couple with a 12 yrs old child. My husband and I are the 5th generation of French settlers who moved to Mauritius. We came to the village of Carreau Acacia 12 years ago on a family owned farm.
We live in a quite area, in the middle of the sugar canes and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that surrounds us. One of Mauritius' unique view point, quite unknown though is the Natural Bridge, a bridge shaped by the ocean in the volcanic cliffs which you can only see in the south of the lsland. It's only about 2 kms away from our place.... Then, towards Mahebourg ( 15kms away ), our very popular traditionnal cassava based biscuit factory, family owned business, aged 150yrs. Our 2 must see places in the south east part of the island. The airport is only 7 minutes drive, so very convenient when needing to reach there early morning.... No need to wake up before the sun, no rush because of traffic etc.... A good night sleep, early breakfast if you feel like it, then only a few minutes later you are checking in....
